Fabrics, Needles, to Panties

Hello, everyone! I hope you are doing fine in your end and that you are all happy.

Today I would be sharing about the materials that I bought from an online shop through the Shopee app and a local store.

A few months ago, I bought a sew-simple sewing machine and my very purpose was to sew my kid's panties. Though it does not sew like a high-speed sewing machine and does not have an edging type of sewing, the zigzag type works well.

What inspired me to do this is that my kids needed panties and I searched online shops since I cannot go to the city( the fare doubled and I was really scared of Corona Virus at that time because the City had a high infection rate in the country.) I found the panties expensive. They are sold fifteen pesos per piece, well, not really that expensive but I still have to pay for shipping fees when I will be ordering one. Since i live in Mindanao, the lowest fee that i am paying for shipping fees is 80: that's120 pesos less 50 pesos discount.

I did not buy yet, but searched on how to sew panties instead. I really believe that it was very easy to make so instead of ordering panties online, I ordered cotton spandex. It was great that I found a shop that sells scrap fabrics: they may be scrap but still, they can be used for the purpose that I am intending them

So one day, they came and I was very amazed that what came to me are wide fabrics that look very good. The seller even gave me what I hopes for: a various colors and designs of fabrics so that my kids will never confuse about the undergarments they belonged to.

until now, I still did not touch the fabric above, I was having second thoughts about making them panties because there are lots to be made with it. My husband even asked me to have a portion of it so that he can make T-shirt.

This fabric is allocated for my eldest daughter.

While I was trying to sew, I realized that sewing panties is very hard, contrary to what I was thinking at first. I even broke my last needle because of it.

The next day, my co-worker went to Puerto, where the nearest mall was so I asked him to buy me a sewing machine needle, I was even ashamed of him because he had to climb the stairs because of the fabrics and accessories were at the fourth floor.

I was even shocked when I saw the price! it was only worth 10 pesos and has ten needles already!

That night, I tried to sew but since the new needles had the round edge, I had a hard time working with them. Apparently, my machine needs a needle that had a flat portion on the back so that it will fit perfectly.

Ooh, people might think I do voodoo because of this.

Finally, I was able to make a panty. I was proud of how neat the stitches were. that plan is to fold the upper part and insert elastic in them.

For the sides, I just folded the fabric but I don't like it, It doesn't give the stretch that I need.

I am pretty happy with the very first panties that I made for my daughters.

I was not very satisfied with my work so I continued on searching for videos to guide me through. I hope to share my improvement with you all.
