Remembrance Sunday // An Annual Religious Event When the Rain Obeyed his Master.
It was a Sunday full of good memories when I attended an annual religious event with my family members and friends. We were thrilled to see many long time friends who we have not met for a long time now because of change of location, job and and other necessities of life.
We also experienced an interchange of encouragement by friends who came to stay in our apartment for the purpose of the event.
They were two sessions slated for each day (Morning and Afternoon). In-between the sessions was an intermission (noon break) during which, delegates exchange greetings and shared their meals with friends. Some used that moment to discuss about what they have learnt during the morning session of the programme.
During noon break
The break time which lasted for an hour and few minutes was long enough for one to tour round the hosting facility of Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The programme lasted for three days, starting from Friday and ended on Sunday. By special grace of Almighty God, there was no heavy rain compared to days prior to the event, it was a little drizzling on Saturday except after the event on Sunday.
Saturday was a little cloudy and drizzling, we even left some clothes on a line outside when we left the house to the event
Sunday after the event when rain kept all delegates inside the facility
The Sunday rain was so heavy that no delegate could go out of the stadium after the event.
It was as if the rain was telling people in the stadium “I have waited patiently for you to finish your programme, now you have to wait for me to get relieved because I have been holding on for so long”
So all delegates waited for the heavy rain that lasted about an hour to stop before they leave the Stadium facility.
That Sunday when the rain took it's turn to come down heavily after the programme, was a memorable one to me. It showed everyone that the Almighty God has power over what he created e.g. rain, sun etc.
Thanks for your time to read through this memory.
Hope these friends also have what to share; they are @akareen
@Josh David and
@Applause.
While I appreciate the organiser of this contest, @beautiful12.
