Is patience your friend or enemy?
Is Patience My Friend or Enemy? A Real Reflection from My Steemit Journey |
---|
Patience. That word sounds peaceful, even soft, like something that gently holds your hand and says, “Relax, it’ll come.” But if you’ve ever tried to grow on Steemit or waited endlessly for a vote that never came, then you know patience isn’t always that calm. Most times, I feel like giving up, but then I remember a saying;
"Rome was not built in a day"
I just have to trust the process and not give up.
For me, I have tried to exhibit patience, especially on Steemit. When I saw this contest, I was happy as I would use it as an avenue to pour out my frustrations, challenges while still being patient, and also try to help others with this write up.
Do you think you've been patient during your time on Steemit? Explain briefly
Have I Been Patient on Steemit? |
---|
If I’m being fully honest, yes — I’ve been patient. Maybe more than I ever expected I would be.
I’ve joined contests, followed rules, wrote posts with my heart, made sure to format correctly, avoided plagiarism, added images, tagged right, engaged in comments — the whole process. Yet, sometimes I feel like I’m talking into a void. Like my posts aren’t seen. Like I’m walking a long road and no one is noticing the steps I’m taking.
There were days I saw others get booming votes, and I smiled for them — but deep inside I was wishing the light would shine on me too. Yes, It has not been easy. But that didn't stop me from posting, hoping that my hard work pays off.
Do you think patience is the key to achieving a good SP? Why?
Is Patience the Key to Growing Steem Power?" |
---|
Definitely. Steem Power (SP) is not something that just something you sleep and wake up to see sitting in your wallet, you have to put in the work. You earn it slowly, from curation rewards, author rewards, contests, engagement, and saving up. I’ve seen some people grow their SP in months because they stayed consistent, avoided shortcuts, and just trusted the slow growth.
Sometimes it’s tempting to chase after quick profits — maybe through external platforms or spam-like activities — but that’s not lasting. The Steem ecosystem rewards patience and persistence, not rush and noise. Every little vote, even if it’s 0.01, adds up over time. The more you power up, the more your voice grows on the platform.
So yes, patience is the secret fuel behind every genuine Steem Power growth story.
Have you withdrawn your savings out of impatience or necessity?
Have I Withdrawn Because of Impatience or Necessity? |
---|
So far, I’ve tried not to withdraw much. Not because I wasn’t tempted — but because I’ve learned that impatience empties faster than it fills. Of course, if someone is in real financial need, it’s understandable to withdraw. But if it's just out of frustration, the loss is double: you lose both the tokens and the long-term growth.
There was a time I thought, “Maybe I should just power down and leave this for now.” But then I remembered: the people who stayed through the quiet seasons are the ones who enjoy the loud ones.
My few withdrawals were out of necessity, not impulse. And even then, I felt a bit of regret — like I pulled out a seed before it had time to grow.
How patient have you been waiting for a good vote from steemcurator01 and 02?
How Patient Have I Been Waiting for Steemcurator Votes? |
---|
If I had a coin for every time I refreshed my post hoping to see steemcurator01 or steemcurator02 pop up, maybe I’d be rich already.
But jokes aside, this has been one of the most testing areas of patience. You write, you wait, and… nothing. Then you write again, and wait again.
Sometimes you even read others' posts and wonder, “What am I doing wrong?” But that’s where trust comes in. Maybe your turn hasn’t come yet. Maybe your next post will be the one that opens the door. I’ve learned to stop chasing the vote and start chasing consistency instead.
The real truth is: when that vote eventually comes, it won’t just be a reward for the post you wrote that day — it’ll be a reward for every post you wrote and waited.
Looking at your own answers, I think, is patience your friend or enemy?
So, Is Patience My Friend or Enemy? |
---|
Looking at everything — my time on Steemit, the votes I didn’t get, the growth I’ve wanted, the small wins I’ve had — I can say this:
Patience is not always my favorite friend, but it’s definitely not my enemy.
It’s the one that stays even when others don’t. It’s the one that keeps whispering, “One more try.” It’s the reason I’m still here, still writing, still believing.
Yes, there are days I want to shout and say, “This is too slow!” But there are also days when I look back and think, “I’ve come far.”
In a world of quick likes and instant feedback, patience feels out of place. But here on Steemit, it is a great virtue to keep one going hoping for better.
Final Thoughts |
---|
Every Steemian has their own story, but many of us share the same silent hope — to be seen, to be heard, to grow, to be rewarded. While we wait, let us move with patience. Even though It’s not perfect. It won’t take away the pain of feeling ignored. But it keeps us unshaken, preparing us for the better days.
So no, patience is not my enemy. It’s the quiet partner that’s still helping me build something real — one post, one upvote, one day at a time.
@promisezella @mr-peng @calculuseyo1 do you agree with me?

Ciertamente las aspiraciones son silenciosas y aún más cuando observamos un objetivo distante, lo bueno es saber esperar como todo un sabio.
Rightly said, thanks for the review
