RE: Documentary - "For The Love of Reggae" - Set to Air Sometime 2021 in JM

in #reggae6 years ago

Great summary post, good to have all these things brought together (also very interesting to hear about the documentary, I'll look forward to that).
This reflects the new curation approach I'm working on for @shanibeer and @shani.jahming and which I'll be writing about in the next week or two. Reggaesteem is maturing and I'll be looking to support the following types of post:

  • more in-depth analyses and critiques for tourism and music.
  • people in music or tourism where they're giving insights into what they do.
  • writing, literature, poetry, film, theatre and arts.
  • personal insights, stories, reflections and experiences.

I'm moving away from:

  • general music posts reviewing or presenting songs or artists and
  • posts that are primarily based on internet research unless it includes analysis and/or personal opinion or other input from the writer.
  • people talking about powering up except for the monthly JPUD initiative, or banging on about the JAHM price unless its part of a wider critique/examination of Reggaesteem business development.

These are just my personal preferences - what I'm interested in spending my time reading about and engaging with - and they will change again as Reggaesteem continues to grow and evolve.

Look forward to you bringing this to the feed, and always love hearing from you personally. You're exactly right about this change in curation. The moderation of content, moving forward, will be changed, but only to improve the entire ecosystem as a whole. There should be some guidelines rolling out, but this is some great verbiage to add to the upcoming guidelines which are still pending and TBA.

I, along with RS, thank you for your awesome, awesome, awesome participation through curation, engagement, and thoughtful commitment to bettering the tribe.

The JAHM OG you are !

hehe, thank you :)
I'm preparing a couple of other posts first which build on the tourism stuff, because they set the context and raise the question for the curation, which (for me) is: who are we writing for? who do we want to attract?
@crypticat got me going hehe :)~

Right on shani! We definitely need to take a step back and fully understand that our target audience should be those that are or will potentially travel to the Caribbean. That’s the point of a stake and stay, but reggaesteem goes beyond just the SNS offerings. Look forward to seeing your thoughts and ideas brought to light on the feed !

@conradsuperb, what's the % distribution between creators and curators on reggaesteem, do you know? Is it 60/40 or something else? Thanks 😊

Reward distribution is 65/35 :)
