This is a partial count, so think of it more as a floor.

It is most useful for understanding the composition of Russian deaths. 19% of the deaths have been inmates. 12% have been mobilized draftees. About 6% have been from PMCs like Wagner Group.

There have been over 3,100 confirmed officers killed including 7 generals.

The failed Russian counteroffensive was one of the deadliest periods of the war for the Russian military.
