Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 104: Debate: Riding a bicycle or driving a car

When I was 8 years old, I was very keen about learning how to ride a bicycle. This is because I always loved to see people on bikes with their helmets , waterbottles and protective clothings riding bikes.

some did it for fun while others rode bicycles as a sport. I was very much interested that I had to tell my friend who could ride to teach me. The first day was very hectic, my friend helped me sit on the bike, showed me where to place my legs and I started pedaling. She had to hold the bike since I could not independently know how to handle the steering and we moved slowly. At certain intervals, she attempted to leave the bike so I would control it myself but each time , she tried I screamed and begged her to return because I was very scared of falling. This continued for days until one day, she disclosed to me that I would not learn to ride successfully if she continued to hold the bike, I finally agreed to ride by myself and although I fell down a couple of times, I finally learnt to ride and even competed in a race with her a couple of times

In own opinion, riding a bicycle is much easier to learn than driving a car because bicycles can easily be learnt to ride irrespective of age group. Before you can drive in certain parts of the world, you need to be of a certain age otherwise you will be arrested whereas it is not so for bicycle as you could easily find a child of 7 years or lower riding a bicycle.
Also, the controls in a bicycle are fewer and less complicated than that of a car . A car usually contains brakes, speedometer, steering ,fuel guage and so many other stuffs which makes it difficult to master oover a short period of time while a bicycle only contains the pedals, handles and brakes or less therefore making it very easy to learn

I know how to ride a bicycle although learning at first had several setbacks but through consistency, I was able to successfully learn what I had always admired

I believe that anything that can be taught to as little as a toddler is easy and a simpler method and as our day and time requires this skill, it's very important to be learnt but everyone.
