Today I have prepared a salad recipe for SLC season 25 in week 4. We use chickpeas in various ways. But it is most beneficial if it can be used to make salads.

A salad made with chickpeas, cucumbers, onions, green peppers, tomatoes and carrots is a very nutritious and delicious dish. Chickpeas contain a lot of protein, fiber, iron and magnesium, which provide energy to the body, help build muscles and improve the digestive process. Cucumbers and tomatoes keep the body cool, provide water and vitamin C. Beta-carotene in carrots is very beneficial for the eyes, and it also increases the brightness of the skin. Onions help purify the blood and increase immunity. Green peppers contain vitamin C and anti-inflammatory ingredients, which are helpful in preventing colds and coughs.

Regular consumption of this salad helps in controlling weight, relieves constipation and reduces the risk of heart disease and diabetes. It is a light yet nutritious dish suitable for breakfast or healthy afternoon snacks. Since it is uncooked, its nutritional value is not lost. It is an ideal dish for those who are health conscious or on a diet.

Ingredients required for making raw chickpea Salad.

Step-1

First, I soaked each vegetable thoroughly in water, washed it, and drained the water.

Step-2

In this step, I peeled the cucumber, carrot, and onion separately and washed them again.

Step-3

Now I am cutting the vegetables one by one. I have cut all the vegetables in the same size. First I chopped the onion then the tomato, cucumber, green chillies. I cut the vegetables into cubes.

Step-4

Now I took the cucumber in a separate bowl. I put tomatoes on it and added chopped carrots, onions, chopped green chilies and chopped coriander leaves.

Step-5

At this stage, I added the peeled raw chickpeas. Then I added salt, pepper powder and turmeric according to the quantity. Then I mixed everything well. Finally, while serving, I cut the boiled egg into cubes and put it on top of the salad. Later, when eating, I mix it and eat it, the flavor will be good.

Final result

Finally, I made a healthy and delicious chickpea salad. It was incredibly fun to eat. This salad is ready to eat. Moreover, this salad is absolutely delicious when eaten with rice or roti, parota, and meat.

I have eaten this salad many times. But chickpea salad is prepared in different ways. Today I have prepared it in one method. In fact, I usually make this salad for iftar during Ramadan. Although eggs are not used in that case. However, if you use eggs or meat, it tastes a little different. And since I have eaten it many times, I can say that it is undoubtedly much more delicious. Which fulfills my expectations.

  • Chickpeas
    Chickpeas are very beneficial for our body. They contain protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals. If it is eaten raw, then its protein is much more available. That is why I have used raw chickpeas in today's recipe. If someone wants, they can use it boiled. It is very effective in preventing various diseases in our body.

  • Cucumber
    Cucumber is a very nutritious vegetable. It can be eaten raw as well as used in various salads. Most of the time we use cucumber for salads. It helps in reducing body weight and keeping the body hydrated. Apart from that, it also helps in digestion.

  • Bell pepper
    Bell peppers are rich in vitamin C, antioxidants and fiber. By eating them, we get various vitamins and minerals. However, these bell peppers are not easily available in our area. They can be eaten raw and cooked in any way. However, I could not find these bell peppers in the market, which is why I could not use them.

  • Onion

Onion is a spicy vegetable. Which is very tasty. In fact, if you do not use onion in salads, the taste seems different. If you use onion to make the salad a little crunchy. Onion reduces our risk of heart disease and increases digestion.

I wrote down the price of each ingredient per kilogram in the steam price. However, the price of bell paper is high here and it is difficult to get it.

I have given several ingredients here for making this salad. However, salads can be made with chickpeas in different ways. Which is much better for our health. However, I think those who can eat raw chickpeas should definitely use raw chickpeas in making salads. And if you cannot eat raw chickpeas, you can also use it boiled. Here I have used kasundi because it will enhance the taste a lot. Kasundi means mustard sauce. In this case, tamarind chutney can also be given to make it a little more delicious. However, I did not use it for this salad. However, I use it in other cases too. Moreover, I have used eggs to add another protein. So that children are also interested in eating it. In fact, if a person can eat this salad at one time of the day, then all the protein and mineral salt needs of his body will be fulfilled.
