The story of the meeting of Jacob and Joseph in Egypt.

Welcome to my blog! Today I want to share with you the story of Jacob's encounter with his son Joseph in Egypt. You can read this wonderful story in Genesis 45: 1-28 and Genesis 46: 1-27.
Jacob, Joseph's father, left Canaan with all his family and belongings, and when he arrived in Beersheba, God spoke to him in a dream and said: Do not be afraid to go to Egypt, because I will go with you.
Before Jacob left Canaan, his children had returned from Egypt with valuable gifts. Joseph had provided them with new clothes and many foods.
Benjamin, the younger brother, also gave him three hundred silver coins, for the fright he had taken ...
When Jacob learned that Joseph was still alive and that he had become a powerful lord, he wept for joy.

Then, Jacob said:
-If God gives me the strength to endure the trip to Egypt, I would like to realize it, to embrace Joseph again -said, moved.
Then, God the Lord appeared to him between dreams and told him:
-Don't fear the trip. I will accompany you, your children, their families, the servants and the maids of Egypt, and no evil will fall on you. Your twelve sons will become the patriarchs of the twelve tribes of my people. And then I will guide your descendants back to the lands of Canaan.
"Yes, Lord," Jacob said in the dream.
In the following weeks, Jacob and his children loaded all their belongings on animal-drawn carts. Ruben sent a messenger to Egypt.
The messenger announced to Joseph that his father, Jacob, together with his children, their families, the servants and the maids, with all his flocks of animals and his material goods would go to live in Egypt, as he had offered.
This news made Jose very happy, who immediately announced to Pharaoh the arrival of his father and his brothers.
"You are my best officer and my best friend," said Pharaoh. What you do, well done will be. Your father and your brothers must also be my father and my brothers. I will give you the best Egyptian land, where you can cultivate the field and raise animals.
I know that the children of Canaan are hard workers. And this will also be of benefit to us.
Jose bowed deeply and thanked the monarch with all his heart.

Then he went to the country's border to meet his father as soon as possible.
Jacob embraced Joseph for a long time, without the abundant tears running down his cheeks embarrassing them.
Joseph hugs his father Jacob at his meeting in Egypt.

By order of Pharaoh, the travelers of Canaan settled down in Gosen, the most fertile region of the Egyptian kingdom ...
On one occasion, God the Lord gave Jacob the name "Israel", which means "he who fights with God". This name was inherited by Jacob's sons and their descendants, who would come to be known as "the people of Israel" or, simply, "the Israelites."
