The essence of the church is shown in the way that God faced the different obstacles that would halt the work. When confronting each one of these situations the idea that the essence of the church was, is and will be to speak the gospel, announce, preach initiating in our place and reaching the ends of the earth.

Example 1:

Obstacle of the church: Focus on itself.
Solution: Be witnesses.
When in Acts 1.7 the disciples want to focus on themselves When will you restore the kingdom? Jesus refocuses them on verse 8 by showing them that their true task is to be witnesses. People who talk about what they saw. Speak what we know. When the church focuses on itself it loses the correct focus that Jesus placed on it.

Example 2:

Obstacle of the church: Staying contemplating Jesus.
Solution: Deliver us to the task that you entrusted us until you come.
When they look at the sky, the angels asked them, Why do you look at the sky? and remind them that Jesus will return. His return implies returning to face Him and responding to the task assigned to us. Therefore there are moments to contemplate and moments where you have to stop contemplating and working. In other words, do what the person we contemplate with such devotion sent us. If contemplation (in these times united with adoration) does not become action and obedience, we must doubt that adoration.
True worship (as Jesus worshiped his father) is obedience to what the Father commanded us to do under the platform, not to get on a platform to sing and make music. Care.

Example3:

Obstacle of the church: It does not extend to the places where Jesus sent it. (Acts 1.8)
Solution: use of harder means for the church to move.
Acts 8.1 demonstrates that the church did not follow the strategy Jesus indicated in Acts 1.8, so God makes sure that the church moves through the persecution and goes exactly where it should go voluntarily.
God displayed this movement with the essential characteristic of the church, verse 4 indicates that "those who were scattered went everywhere announcing the gospel"
This shows that God will use all possible means and is willing to lead the church to carry out the strategy of reaching nearby communities, far away and to the end of the earth as it is. Do not wait for God to move you by force because it will be painful, move voluntarily to take your church to plant churches and send missionaries.

Conclusion: We see that when faced with three different obstacles the focus towards which God is responsible for orienting us is to prioritize the task of evangelization as the driving force of the rest of the church's tasks. This emphasis comes directly from the heart of God, which beats for people who are lost. The heart of the church should beat like the heart of God.
Make plans to execute the task of personal evangelization weekly in your church. If you need help, call us, but do not stop. He awaits you. Do not let the obstacles stop what God wants most. May they all be saved and that their church in essence be what He dreamed, a group of men and women who "beat the gates of hell" because these according to their promise "will not prevail against it."
