Visibility...

Following an interesting post of @whatsup today on which she asked about LISK blockchain and why it is so interesting since, apparently, it does not have what it seems to be a disruptive technology...
In the comments section of that post, there is one on which I fully agree 100%...
@jwolf states that, only at twitter, LISK has something like 183000 Followers... besides the technical aspects, not bad at all for a crypto located at the 39th position of the TotalMarketCap...
But, what about other cryptos... let's say, what about Cryptos focused on DApps development, purely competitors of STEEM?
For instance, TRON is a relative "young" crypto project, younger than STEEM...but located at the 11th position of the TMC already, and I would say that this position is very solid...not like STEEM which has been losing positions month after month...
Besides EOS, I don't think there is a better blockchain than STEEM in order to develop DApps and that's why at the "State of the DApps website" the supremacy of STEEM is evident...
But man, STEEM keeps being invisible for the audience...
Do you know how many followers we have on twitter?

5634 followers?

106000 followers of the Steemit account...
Do you know how many there are at TRON?

424000 Followers?
Are we invisible for the audience? I'm afraid it is so...
If we want this Blockchain to success we should focus on improving this aspect more than any other...
Still so much work to do guys...I hope we can focus on marketing as soon as Steem Inc will deploy the expected Economical Changes by hardforking the blockchain...or, why not starting NOW?

We are not ready for the masses yet. Let's fix steem first and once the dirt has settled and the SPS /SMTs are working fine, then focus ALL our energy on promoting the steem ecosystem with adds, twitter campaigns, and articles in crypto websites, where we talk about the amazing progress we've made in the last 2 years...
Invisibility, for now, is a good thing in my opinion.
I see your point... but, do you think other projects are ready for the masses? TRON, ETH...EOS? All of them are trying to solve their own problems...but none of them are missing the marketing aspect as STEEMIT is doing...IMO

Yes, I know, but their value is PURELY based on hype. ETH is not scalable. EOS is in the hand of just a few wallets, TRON has nothing but a community...
Based on steems capability today and things being worked on, I don't think there is a better chain than steem.
We don't have hype, yet.
If everything works out as promised, I don't see any reason why people will not understand the real value of steem in the future. I have seen at least 3 different days in the past, where steem did increase 100% in a day due to a little hype. If the real hype kicks in a year or two ... 100+$. It will not happen overnight, but 6 months is enough for an enormous increase in value.
We have to explain the “real value” of steem at those people. That’s what I’m telling...
Hope we start spreading that information soon.

EOS's distribution is better than Steem if this HF conversation hasn't made that clear I am not sure what would
A good marketing strategy is absolutely needed to success, in this illusionary world. 🤗

I have to disagree on you, @toofasteddie. I don't see Steem as a worthly platform where people should deploy their apps. However, I see Steem as a platform to develop for, as long as dapps being deployed take the post rewarding feature as the main income target, both for the developers and for dapp's users.
This is in contrast on Steem Monsters and Drugwars, were they are only using Steem as a way to market the app via post publishing, mimicking the way it works with Facebook linked games. As it could be seen, although dapps which are providing more activity on the Steem blockchain are Steem Monsters and Drugwars, it has not been reflected into Steem/USD or Steem/BTC price.
Both apps have not provided any new value to the Steem blockchain user and in fact it has been politing Steemian feeds since their inception while not adding anything at all -their posts are just an image linked to an external webpage asking users to create an account-.
Steem Monsters and Drugwars aren't dependant on the Steem blockchain. They could leave and start running on EOS, NEM or Lisk or ARK, without having to change too much their source code or their infra-structure. Most Steem dapps are written in JavaScript, which is the language Lisk apps are written, as far as I could remember -sorry if I am mistaken on this, please correct me if I am wrong-.
So I am still thinking that Steem should be a target for apps like DTube, DSound, DPolls or even DLike, which main feature is creating content which is published into the Steem blockchain in order for their users to get more rewards or be rewarded because of having created content in a more innovative way.
Of course Steem blockchain is very -extremely, I would say- attractive. Mainly because of the block generation rate and amount of transactions on each block and, my favourite one, no fees for content publishing. But let's no forget Steem is a content publishing platform. DApps creators could still use the custom_json feature, which allows them to create transactions without visible content. NextColony doues that. But it doesn't add any value to the blockchain price neither to their users.
I don’t know exactly where you disagree...
My point is on visibility ie. marketing side of the Steem Blockchain.

My fault.
I disagree on this:
Qualcosa deve cambiare, per avere una maggiore spinta e maggior presa nei confronti del grande pubblico, anche se quando di prova a parlare con dei profani di Steemit, spesso ti guardano come un alieno

Sarebbe una gran bella rivincita nei loro confronti, non te lo nascondo

Our apps on are doing well on the state of the dapps due to our community not our products.
