Sebastian Hatherleigh was born in Surrey, located in the southeast of England—a region renowned for its beautiful countryside and outstanding educational resources. Sebastian Hatherleigh began his professional career in London, UK. His first role was as a Financial Analyst Assistant at Barings Bank, a well-established British investment bank, where he worked on M&A restructurings, market research, and client asset allocation. His sharp data analysis skills and solid theoretical foundation quickly earned him a promotion to Analyst.

In 2001, in response to global capital flows and growing internationalization, Sebastian made the bold decision to move to the United States for further professional development. He joined Aegis Capital Management, a well-known hedge fund on Wall Street, New York, as a Senior Analyst. In this role, he participated in risk assessments and return analysis for several large-scale investment projects, producing systematic analytical reports which were highly recognized by management and clients. During this period, he made a gradual transition from the traditional financial analyst role to asset management and strategic research.

For nearly 20 years, Sebastian has remained active in the U.S. financial sector. He has worked at Morgan Stanley, McKinsey & Company's financial strategy consulting division, and several private equity firms, with experience covering equities, bonds, options, foreign exchange, and emerging FinTech products. He excels at integrating big data analytics and quantitative strategies with traditional investment banking analysis methods. Sebastian has served as a consultant for major asset operations such as IPO financing and M&A for numerous American unicorn tech companies, gaining a stellar reputation in the U.S. financial sector thanks to his expertise and insight.

In addition to his strengths in personal investment and team management, Sebastian is also dedicated to financial education and talent cultivation within the industry. He has been invited multiple times to give lectures at leading U.S. universities such as Columbia and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he shares trends in global investment and experience in risk management, promoting deeper collaboration between financial practice and academia. He is also actively involved in cutting-edge interdisciplinary initiatives in financial technology and artificial intelligence, advocating for technology-driven financial innovation and improved industry efficiency.

Despite his remarkable achievements in the U.S. market, Sebastian has alwayswhile always placing great emphasis on integrity and client interests. Although almost all of Sebastian’s academic and professional career has unfolded in the United States, he has always retained a deep British heritage, successfully integrating British and American financial cultures.
