The young sexual predator will serve 21 months in prison after 16 victims

A sexual predator sentenced yesterday to 21 months in prison for assaulting more than fifteen teenage girls took care to smile at her victims present at the court before taking the path of cells.

"It looks like she wanted to drool us, make us feel bad," reacted one of the victims, who was 13 when she was targeted by Roxanne Auger-Lapointe.

The latter, now 24 years old, has pled guilty to a string of charges, including assault and sexual touching of 16 victims yesterday at the courthouse in Saint-Jérôme.

The alleged acts occurred between November 2012 and May 2016.

To identify his prey, Auger-Lapointe prowled around the high school attended by some of his victims.

She texted them regularly, trailed with mutual friends and ended up accumulating the conquests of minors without them being aware.

By trying to influence them on their sexual orientation, the young woman in her early twenties was getting sexual favors from young girls whom we are forbidden to identify.

"We do not expect that from a woman. We raise our children by telling them to pay attention to strangers, but we forget to tell them that women can also be dangerous, "said the mother of the teenager.

Hard to recover

For some victims, these unhealthy friendships lasted a few weeks, but more than a year for others.

"I'm afraid she'll come back when she's going out. I realize today what she was doing, and I wonder why I was there, "asked a victim yesterday, as she left the court.

"It scares a teenager, honestly," added another of the young victims.

The teenager, now 16, believes that the discovery of her sex life has been ruined.

"I can not trust it. There was no more manipulative than she, "she said indignantly.

The relatives of the victims lamented that the accused showed no sign of remorse.

Smirk

Moreover, when Justice Michel Bellehumeur endorsed the common suggestion, Auger-Lapointe greeted his family with a simple "bye" before following the correctional officers.

Then she turned around for a second, smiling, looking at her victims in the room.

For them, their assailant admitted his guilt only to reduce his sentence, seeming "not repentant at all". But they said they were satisfied with the sentence and are relieved to avoid a trial.

Auger-Lapointe will appear on the perpetual sex offender registry. She will have a two-year probation and a one-year follow-up.

WHAT THEY SAID

"We were 13 years old at the time. We were looking for each other. She took her victims in the vulnerable age. She said to me, "Say you let yourself go!" She was aware of what she was doing. "

  • A victim aged 13 during the assaults

"I knew I was boys. When she touched me, I hit her in the face. "

  • A second victim aged 13 during touching

"She was too organized in her dealings with girls to believe that she will not start again. "

  • Mother of one of the victims

"It was not normal for a 21-year-old girl to be interested in 13-year-old girls. That's where I turned on. Today, our job is done! After three years, it's long. She's on the list of life offenders, and that's good for me. "

  • Mother of another victim

"This is a global award that reflects the seriousness of the facts. It's the amount of victims that was problematic in this case. "
