ANYTHING is possible with code, we are talking philosophy and a commitment to our members. It just isn't fair to people who contribute sooo much every day to allow others to just pop in to get up votes and not give them back. This is why we do shadow rank boosts for good members, to ensure if you give more than you get you are rewarded properly over time and is our way of avoiding charging for the system AND stops scammers from being able to "game" our system. We are always open to adapting and the new system will allow a little more control but there is always a trade off and we don't want to make abrupt changes that hurt those with a lot of SP who built up their rank over months unfairly! Some members make less than 1 post a week and contribute over 10k SP in votes. It is a balancing act.
