THE EGO, GOOD FRIEND OR BAD FRIEND?

in #sheilaarias5 years ago

Hello my dear friends, how are you? Today I am going to talk about the ego, and understanding that Ego is the Latin word that means "I", there are several currents of thought that define the word Ego "I"; So today I'm going to write about my opinion of it, is the ego always bad? Can we feed the ego in a positive way? are some of the questions that come to mind ... whether you agree or disagree with my opinion, the truth is always within you.

NEGATIVE EGO

If Ego means "I", we can understand that the bad EGO is the mismanagement of your "I", people with bad ego are usually toxic people, those who only look for themselves regardless of the people around them, they are people who always believe they are right, they are usually people who manipulate, they are human beings whose EGO is fueled by states of envy, superiority ...
They never accept their own mistakes and always find guilty in their environment, thus creating a masked reality, and here comes another question ... are they happy? People who develop mismanagement of their "I" are usually people who do not they have achieved happiness in one or more of their areas of life.

AND HERE I WILL SHARE THE FOLLOWING STORY

The boy and the tree - TALE ABOUT LOVE AND EGO - OSHO

There once was a huge apple tree, and there was a little boy who loved it and used to go play around it every day. He would climb to the top of the tree, eat his apples, and then take a long nap in its shade. The boy loved the tree and the tree loved and enjoyed playing with it.
Time passed, the little boy grew up and a day came when he no longer played around the tree as he used to do every day.
Then one sunny day the boy came back to find that the tree looked sad.

  • "Come, play with me", the tree asked the boy.
  • "I am no longer a small child, I have grown up, and I no longer play around the trees," replied the boy.
  • "I want nice toys, can you give me money to buy them?"
  • “I'm sorry, I don't have money, but you can take all the apples from my branches and sell them. This way you will get money, ”said the tree.
The boy was happy and anxious. He quickly pulled all the apples from the tree and ran to the market.
The boy never returned after taking the apples, and the tree became very sad.
One day the boy came back and the tree was very happy and excited.
  • "Come, play with me," said the tree.
  • "I do not have time to play. I have to work for my family. We need a house. Can you help me get one?
  • “Sorry, I don't have a home. But you can cut my branches to build a house for your family ”.
So the boy cut off all the branches of the tree and left satisfied and happy.
The tree was glad to see him happy; however, the boy never returned. Again the tree was lonely and sad.
One hot summer day, the boy returned and the tree was happy with his presence.
  • "Do you want to come and play with me?" Said the tree.
  • I am sad with my life and I am getting very old.
"Why don't you come and play with me?" Said the tree. I want to go sailing to relax my mind. Can you give me a boat to sail on it? "
  • Use my log to build a boat. You can sail away and be relaxed and happy. " So he cut the tree trunk to make a boat and went to sea to sail, and did not return to the tree for long.
Finally, the boy returned after many years had passed.
  • "I'm sorry my friend, but I have nothing else to give you. There are no more apples on my branches, ”said the tree.
  • "I have no teeth to bite," replied the boy, now an old man.
  • "I no longer have a trunk for you to climb up and play," exclaimed the tree.
  • "Now I'm too old for such things," said the old man.
  • “I really don't need much now, just a place to sleep and rest. I'm tired after all these years, ”said the old man.
  • "Well! The roots of an old tree are the best place to rest. Come, come here and sit with me and rest ”. The old man sat down and the tree became happy, he smiled and wept with joy.

This is a story where you can see the difference between love, which loves to give, and the ego that loves to get.

EGO POSITIVE

And understanding that EGO means "I", is it really always bad? or we can work that "I" in a positive way as the tree does through LOVE, through giving, through our being as extraordinary beings where humility, integrity, the offering of help, respect for the external abound ( environments, people ...), understanding of others ...

Plácido Fajardo, partner of Alto Partners Leaders Trust, recalls that "the ego always carries a pejorative connotation, although it can be seen as something positive in what has to do with one's self-awareness, that is, in the ability to detect own abilities and the impact they generate around you. It seems clear that emotional intelligence begins with having a self-awareness, an adequate image of who we are. "

Guillem Recolons, a partner at Soymimarca, identifies personal brand management with the art of investing in oneself to create value for others. Recolons believes that "some ego is good, but never understood as narcissism, but as an improvement in self-esteem and a balance of goodness that can sometimes make us think more about the good of others than our own."

Andrés Pérez Ortega, an expert in personal strategy, explains that "it is not the ego (of the bad guy) to make recommendations, give opinions or share lessons learned. In this way, it is not you who says you are good; it will be others who judge you. it can confuse the ego - excess of self-esteem - with the visibility ".

Now I ask you a question ... do you feed your EGO in a positive or negative way? The world is changing giving your best "I", and if you are not yet on this path, it is never too late to change the direction and put your part, everything is in you and you have great power to take part and do your bit to make a better world!

I wish you many successes in everything you do, I wish you much happiness in all your areas of life and above all that the first success is with yourself, I hope I have helped you today!
