RE: A Shirt on Sunday: Shrewsbury Folk Festival 2019
That's a lot of photos. It's a good thing memory cards are cheap these days. Looks like you had a good time despite the sweaty tabard. I think with cameras there is definitely an issue with diminishing returns and it's more about being in the right place with an eye for a good shot. I expect lighting was a problem as I have found it hard to get good shots of gigs.
Will you be doing more of this?
Memory cards weren't the problem - I had my laptop to transfer images. Batteries were the issue. I had exactly enough battery power for three days of heavy shooting.
If I get asked back, I'll do it. Also thinking of trying to use this as a cost-saving exercise on all the indoor metal festivals I go to.
I would buy a better lens, as from the back of the tents I didn't have enough pixels to get a good image. And probably a couple more batteries.
Or... I COULD buy a new camera... you know? This one's 9 years old now, so SURELY I can be excused?
I did wonder about batteries too. Nine years is pretty good for anything digital, but I guess the technology is not changing so quickly these days. Good optics do cost money though.
