Although I'm sure some would rather the community stay more homogeneous, I think a bit of facebook advertising is a neat idea. Bring a bit more diversity. Might need a bit more bot control though.

There are a number of pretty good guides out there for new users, but if you feel like writing I say just do it! Nothing feels quite so satisfying as scratching that writing itch.
