The current price suppression is definately a chance to stack some more, or begin to stack for those who are new to it. I would suggest fine silver though (.999 or better) not alloys.
I put away mainly bullion. I like to have a bag of 1964 dimes and under for barter if things go south.
Yes, I know what you mean. Problem might be, to convince people that they contain silver and how much. I guess not everybody knows that. But admittedly, the usual 1 oz pieces may be too valuable for doing small buys. Even the 1/2 or 1/4 oz as well. And the margin for such coins or bars is quiet steep now.
