Crater lake boat tour..

Morning or afternoon everyone …

Oh my god what a great experience this has been. Crater lake is absolutely breathtaking. This trip had absolutely great timing as well. We found out during our boat tour that the only path down to the boat is being closed down after this season for repairs. There will be no boat tours for the next three years because of it.

They only have a few months a year to work on it due to the weather conditions.

The boat tour is a must for anyone that wants the full Crater lake experience. You see things that are unable to be seen any other way.

But….

I will warn you that you have to defend over 3,000 feet to do it. It took us over 20 minutes to get down. But the climb back up was even longer and quite a bit more challenging. We made it back up in 30 minutes.

It was perfectly sunny when we left, but a storm cloud came rolling in roughly 40 minutes in. It was raining hard and then turned to hale. The captain of the boat drove us out of it and the rest of the tour was clear.

Due to more storms rolling in and possibly lightning our boat tour was cut short by 20 minutes. But we still had nearly two hours on the boat and saw such amazing stuff.
