I love fungi. They have evolved so rapidly that crude oil will never again be created in its natural form. Reason being modern fungi decompose wood so fast it can’t transform into crude oil.

@balticbadger I think you're on to something. Mushrooms may be one of the next big secrets in decomposing materials. It's been doing it for millions of years without our help.
