Winter Solar Stats
I haven't done solar update for a few months so today i thought i would bring you up to speed, the last few months have been Winter here in New Zealand and it shows on the Solar stats.
This year we are 50% powered from the Solar panels/battery, and since we are heading into Summer that % will increase over the next few months.
January was ok but i remember we did have some crap weather, February improved as we had lots of sunshine.
Now we start the decent into the Winter months with less sunshine.
May dropped to 44% self powered but June was an shocker 24% self powered.
July was pretty average as well and we started to see improvements in August.
September so far is looking way better for Solar generation and like i said these monthly numbers will only go up as the Summer starts here.
So these re the stats for our Solar generation so far in 2025.
Thanks for reading my Solar post

This indicates that solar panels are the main source of electricity. We cannot do without them, because electricity is the main source of everything after water. Continue, my friend.

Thank you for showing this. I'm always curious as to how much money is actually saved with solar.
Couple of questions: How long have you had them, and have you already recouped your investment?
So our power bill in Winter months with average Solar production is around $200 per month - without Solar it would be $400 +
In Summer months our bills are $40 - $75 per month with Summer solar production, without Solar it would be $450 +
Had this setup for 2.5 years plus got a Powerwall battery, in about 3 years we should more or less break even.
The main reason i got Solar/battery is so that if others don't have power i will.
