Do you see the prevalence of ticketing outlets using online sales where patrons use an "eTicket" on their mobile phone or print their own hard cooy hurting the future of ticket stubs as a collectible?
100%! This was actually a concern back in 2007 when I spoke about it in Vegas. They are being phased out to some degree, but there are some solutions/options. I worked with a marketing manager in Detroit to come up with ideas to make the tickets more collectible.
Some venues are starting to create a really nice "hard" ticket and charging a couple of bucks for it. I hate e-tickets, but they are much more convenient. Thanks for the comment/question!
I guess it's a matter of finding the balance between cost/convenience/customer experience.
