AFCON Semifinals: Senegal v Tunisia - Match preview and prediction #Sportstalk
Senegal will face Tunisia in the 2019 African Cup semi-final today at the 30 June Air Defence Stadium. The match between this two teams will definitely be an exciting one, because both teams are coming to this game with a huge confidence and believe of getting a ticket to the final of the competition.
Senegal narrowly won 1-0 against Benin to ensure their place in the semifinals for the first time in 13 years. Aliou Cisse's side have impressed at the tournament so far, winning four of their five matches and conceding just one goal.
While Tunisia finally won their first match in 90 minutes after getting a draw in all previous matches when they shaved Madagascar 30 to advance to this semifinal stage.
This match will be Tunisia's first African Cup semi-final in 15 years, having last played in the semi-finals in 2004, where they beat Nigeria on penalties to reach the final.
Senegal does not have any injury problems or suspension in the team, so the coach is expected to field the same set of players, with only selection dilemma for coach Aliou Cisse is whether to start Keita Balde or Ismaila Sarr on the wing. But certainly, the Liverpool forward Sadio Mane is the most dangerous Senegalese player and will lead their attack once again in the match.
Tunisia has a fully fit squad to choose from, after Wahbi Khazri recovered from a thigh problem to start a quarter-final victory against Madagascar. The Tunisian team are really not performing so well in this year Afcon tournament, with them finally winning their first match in 90 minutes against Madagascar (3-0), after getting a draw in all previous matches since the start of the tournament. They will have to play with full confidence tonight against the Senegalese, if at all they want to set their eyes on the trophy by reaching the Final stage of the tournament.
Prediction
Today, i really don't see both teams scoring so many goals in this match. Although, it will definitely be an interesting match to watch.
Tunisia is a strong and compact team, their defense is hard to penetrate and it was proven after their previous opponents only managed to get a draw, But Senegal will pose a different threat to Tunisia. Senegal has a lot of talent in their squad and Senegal also has a strong defense.
