As one of Scotland's most famous clubs, Rangers are always the pride of the country. In the first UEFA Europa League preliminary match, they only had to play against a team from Gibraltar, who are completely weaker in all aspects compared to them.

In the first leg, Rangers had an overwhelming victory with a score of 4-0. So coming today's game, the host would surely be playing with ease, knowing fully that the guest can't really do much of a damage to the team due to their poor away form. Historically, the both teams two have only met once, and that was the first leg of the qualifying round which Rangers won 4-0 away from home. Therefore, their is really no need to look at the adversary, because its glaring that the Rangers tewm are far superior to their opponents.

This is actually the first time Rangers have returned to the European arena after years of absence. So coach Steven Gerrard wouldn't be too lenient with this match considering how determined they want to participate in the coming Uefa Europa League competition next season.

On the other hand, the guest, St. Joseph's are team from a small like Gibraltar. They are not even considered to be the strongest team in the Gibraltar First league division. The last time the club was crowned champion was far back in the 1995/96 season. Last season, St Joseph's finished in 3rd place and got a ticket to the Europa League. However, they must participate first in the "Preliminary round". That is, St Joseph's had to compete with another opponent and win against that opponent to qualify for the first qualifying round of the C2 Cup this season. This is the third consecutive time St Joseph's has attended this tournament. On two previous occasions, they all have being on same fate: Returning to the country immediately after the first round. In 2017 / 18 season, they lost to Ael Limassol with a total score of 0-10. Last year, the performance was slightly better, in which they only lost after the penalty shootout. This year, things continue to get worse for the Gibraltar team, St. Joseph when they had to clash with a heavy opponent like Rangers. St Joseph's lost 0-4 in the first leg. Only the most incredible miracle will help them win back in the return leg, which i don't even see happening.
