Squid Game Season 2: A Late Return to a Dark Playground

SOURCE
For reasons I can’t quite explain, despite loving the first season of Squid Game, I only recently started watching the second season. Maybe it was the overload of hype, or just life getting in the way—but finally, I hit play. And now, three episodes in, I’m genuinely glad I did.
Episode 3, titled “001”, throws us straight back into the chaos we’ve come to expect, with the players enduring the bone-chilling return of the infamous Red Light, Green Light game. Somehow, even though we’ve seen this nightmare unfold before, the stakes still feel fresh. The production quality remains high, the social commentary just as sharp, and the pacing, so far, is keeping me engaged without rushing through its quieter, more psychological moments.

There’s a sense that this second season is less about shock value and more about digging deeper into what the game really means—both to the players and to the audience watching. So far, I’m giving it a solid 8 out of 10. If it continues building on the momentum it’s setting up, I can see that score climbing. For now, I’ll keep watching… cautiously curious and quietly impressed.
