Today is really a pleasant day for me. The reason is obvious, as I am featured in the list of winners of the "Review a Wallet dapp in StateoftheDAPPS" contest (announced today by @dapplovers) organized by @dapplovers @oracle-d in association with @stateofthedapps. First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to the task organizer, the Steem ecosystem, all the readers & followers. To be honest, I was not expecting, that is why it came as a pleasant surprise. It was my third attempt. I must also say that I was very much optimistic to win it in my last contest where I reviewed about 0x protocol. But I could not win, but this time(Review of Online.io) I won it & finally my persistent effort paid off.

To all other winners, my heartiest congratulations. To all others who have participated, my best wishes and I am sure next time some of you may win. The best thing to do is to keep on pushing, without thinking too much about the result. If you make the process correct, then definitely success will be the bi-product. It has been more than one year for me in Steem ecosystem and I have really learned a lot of things and this journey has been really beautiful.

Let me tell you that I am not a professional writer, but I have always invested a lot of time in "research", which includes reading a lot of resources before publishing an article for a specific task/contest. I personally feel that research is key. Oracle-D contest really gives sufficient time, I think almost a week time, the participants usually get. A week time is more than enough to complete the research and publish an article with clarity. But the key aspect of writing an Oracle-D contest(in my honest opinion) is to make it brief, yet comprehensive. I am sure most of the participants don't pay attention to "600-1000" words. Some are either on a shorter side and some are on a higher side, the higher side is not bad, but it may not bode well with a reviewer.

Key points you should consider:-

  • Please read the task details by Oracle-D. They cover every detail of the guidelines to write a review of the dapp. If you read from top to bottom, then you can clearly understand what exactly you are going to do in the task.

  • I think relevant illustration and UX is key while writing the review for a dapp. You must cover all the important features/components of a dapp.

  • Your own review and assessment of a particular dapp can justify the objective of the task. That is why Oracle-D specifically mentioned in all the contests that, you must spend at least 1 hour with the dapp. Your own experience with a dapp can bring clarity and a better understanding for the readers.

  • You must go through at least two rounds of proof-reading(in my opinion). Your content may be good but if it has proof-reading issues then it may undo all the effort.

Benefits of Oracle-D tasks:-

  • Every month Oracle-D organizes dapp review tasks in association with StateoftheDAPPS. In social blogging ecosystem like Steem, I see these tasks adding value and justifying the essence of a social blogging platform.

  • Regardless of who wins and who doesn't, most of the dapps are getting exposure through this contest. In the process, some of the people are not only enhancing their knowledge base about the various dapps in this ecosystem but also they are finding the usability of some of the dapps in their real life. For example, some are getting exposure to Metamask wallet, some are getting exposure to Trust Wallet, some are to Status.im, some are to Multisend. To be honest I was not aware that we can send ETH/ERC20 tokens to multiple addresses with a single transaction. From this contest only, I got to know about Multisend dapp where sending ETH/ERC20 tokens to multiple addresses in a single transaction is possible. So this contest also brings the usability of various dapps to our daily life.

  • Oracle-D contest is inclusive in its approach. For any event Organizer, a contest is really a challenging task. Because you have to select only 5 out of the hundreds and most of the time it could backfire if you don't have an inclusive policy. So the idea to curate all the entries with a decent Oracle-D upvote and rewarding the most valuable and useful entry(top 5) shows the organized way of conducting a contest. That will bring a number of participants, creates enthusiasm where everyone will try to win and in the process everyone will get to know about the dapps, the dapps will also get exposure and at the end, the most valuable entries are rewarded with full Oracle-D upvote. So while the individual behaviours are encouraged through this contest, the highest objective is also being achieved.

Conclusion

At last, I must say that I am grateful to Steem ecosystem. This community is really a wonderful community. I am grateful to all the seniors, all my friends here, my followers & readers. Oracle-D is really doing a fantastic job in the context of activities & engagement in Steem ecosystem. To all my fellow participants who did not win this time, you will win next time. Just have patience, continue putting your best effort, make the process correct. One day, you will also win.
