Steemit Challenge Season 27 Week 01 - Q Mart Supermarket

On a daily, weekly or monthly basis, we are required to use some basic items and the supermarket is one of the places we get those items.

I visited an amazing supermarket called Q mart supermarket. to checkout what's up with them. This is my first time visiting the supermarket.

Location and Background

Q Mart supermarket is a very special supermarket located in the city of Lagos Nigeria. You can find mart supermarket very close to the main road at number 41 st finbarrs college road Akoka Lagos.

It has both local and international items sold there, like foreign food items imported such as cereals, meat and kitchen utensils and clothes. It also has located made goods too such as footwears, food stuff, cosmetics and some kitchen items.

Nearness to the major Road

The nearest of the supermarket to the road is really a good advantage because it makes it easy to locate and it very visible to as many that passes by that area attracting more customers.

Size and Layout

Q mart supermarket is very sizeable, all the sections in the supermarket are neatly arranged for easy access to each products. There are different sections of the supermarket

The Book stand

This is the section where books have been arranged for sale. Inspirational, spiritual and motivational books have been arranged to be bought by customers. Which ever meets your interest. One of the books that picked my interest was a book on gossip.

Wine section

The win section compresses of several varieties of wine samples at there stand mostly foreign wine. I even saw my favorite kind of wine there.
Looking at how the bottles of wine were arranged, I just felt like buying some wine for myself but you know that wasn't what I came to buy.

Cosmetics section

This is the section were you find things like body creams and lotions of all kinds, soaps both liquid and bar soups for children and adults, toothpaste, perfumes, deodorant and their likes. The cosmetic stand is also neatly arranged.

The perfumes sold here are of different varieties. There were many perfumes and deodorants that I wasn't familiar with. But you will love each perfume sampled.

This section includes things like boxers and singlets for the male, pants and tight for the ladies. This section is as important as any other section of the supermarket. Neatly package for customers.

General groceries

This section includes the food stuff, cereals, biscuits, sweets, candies, caned food, beverages and many others. They are neatly arranged on the shelf for costumers to access it.

Some drinks, yogurt, parfait and ice cream are put into a dip freezer as a way to store and preserve them. It's beautiful how they fit into the freezer.

Product Variety

There are several product varieties sold here at q mart supermarket. You don't need to go somewhere else to look for any other items they have it all.

They sell local and imported items. For instance the cream I use on my body is imported but at this supermarket I saw both the local and imported one.

Kids are not left out in this supermarket because there is a stand for kids where toys are displayed. The toys includes games both video games and hand games, superheroes toys, footballs, toy cars, toy bicycles and many other things. Am very sure kids who visit this sections would really love it and would insist that their parents buy some items for them.

There are many supermarkets who don't have kids section for toys but this supermarket is one of the very few that does.

General Electronics

The electronics section of this supermarket is one one of the reasons why I like this supermarket.

This is the stand where stuff like some home electronics are neatly arranged such as electric cooker, electric kettle, pressing iron, hot plate, electric flask and many other electric home appliances. You can get different brands of electronics on this stand.

I was very surprised to discover that they have phone accessories stand where they sell any that has to do with phone like pouch, screen guide, phone charger, power Bank and many other phone accessories. I was impressed when I saw it.

Pricing and Discounts

Honestly I was really amazed by the prices of items sold in this supermarket. The prices of items are not really affordable. My normal favorite supermarket where I do my shopping is far more affordable than this one.

My only consolation was that they give discounted prices for some items for instance you buy a large baby diaper or baby food, you will get one free item.

Also since we are already in the month of October, they are getting set to kick off of the Christmas sales which has started low key already. By the end of October it will full kick of where a customer is given 10-30% discount for every product bought from the supermarket.

Quality and Freshness

I can assure you that in this supermarket, their products are always fresh like their meat and fish, their yogurt and other items. The goods are easily sold out so it doesn't even allow products to stay long. Before the expiration of the goods, they are already sold out to costumers.

General home items

The quality of the product is another commendable thing I noticed I guess that's why their prices are not so affordable. They sell quality and original cosmetic, kitchen utensils like plates and spoons, pots.

The environment to which their products are kept are clean, the foor, refrigerators are kept clean maintaining a good hygiene around that axis.

Customer Service

As I walked through the supermarket from the different section, I noticed the different staff always coming to me to find out if there was something I needed that I haven't found yet. The staff were willing to assist and render help to customers not just to me alone.

They sounded friendly and polite. They were willing to help carry the items bought to the cashier and also ready for anyone who might want to ask them questions.

There services was swift at the payment stand with fast network service in their computers. I was impressed.

Facilities and Amenities

One of the reasons why I love the Q Mart supermarket it's because of its large space area for parking of cars. Because of its nearest to the road, if they don't have a parking space for customers, the customers cars may block the road and cause traffic jams.

Their parking space is wide enough to accommodate lots of cars which is a good advantage.

There are trolleys at the entrance of the supermarket for customers who want to shop at supermarket to help carry their items to the payment stand.

Hygiene and Safety

Cleanliness they say is next to godliness. I believe the hygiene and safety of products and facilities of the supermarket greatly affect the customer base.

Q mart supermarket is remarkable at keeping it's facilities clean. From the entrance to the car park down to inside the building, to every section of the supermarket are neatly kept. The hygiene is topnotch, each goods are kept in good condition.

They have security at the gate and toward the main entrance of the supermarket with cameras stationed at strategic locations in the supermarket. Customers are not allowed to go into the supermarkets with their bags, they are kept in a locker and the security at the entrance takes charge of it. This done to avoid any form of harassment, robbery or ammunition coming into the supermarket.

Personal Experience

I like and prefer this supermarket because it's easily accessible to me. Another reason I prefer this supermarket is for their varieties. You can find several brands of a product to chose from, for instance if I want to buy beverages, there are several options for me at the supermarket.

Another added reason is the book section. I love to read and I can easily access books of my choice at the supermarket. This is actually the first supermarket I have seen around here selling inspirational, motivation or spiritual books.

I also enjoyed their kids toy section where I saw a lot of toys for children, I felt like buying everything away. It was just an amazing experience for me.
