RE: ATLAS DETECTIVES LEAGUE [23 May '25] : Find the Ringleader? [10 STEEM PRIZE]

in #steem-atlaslast month (edited)

CLUE #2...

We are getting some SigInt coming in now.

Three names have been picked up in chatter that we believe comes from the gang.

Do these names mean anything to you...

  • El Curador
  • Capitán Verde
  • Graham

These might all be members of the gang, and one might be the ringleader.

The code GG1958 keeps cropping up as well 🤔

PRIZE NOW = 8 STEEM

Sort:

That was quite a challenge!

  • Who is he? A poor old man selling cigars on the street (Probably a perfect disguise for a ringleader)

  • Where is he? Havana, Cuba

How I solved it:

The code GG1958 refers to Graham Greene, whose spy novel Our Man in Havana was published (and adapted into a film) in 1958.

That clue led me to search posts related to Havana, Cuba and I found him.

Congratulations @disconnect, well found.

You win 8 STEEM and 8 Detective League points.

You also get 1 bonus point for working out the GG1958 code.

There are still bonus points available for anyone who can decode Clue #1.

It looks like we need to send a couple of Atlas Detectives to Havana to see if they can track down The Old Man in Havana.

I wonder if he is Capitán Verde or El Curador?

Graham Greene: Man in Havana

Code: GG1958

Clue Analysis

“ We have just received new information from the latest crime scene.”

  • This mystery context/crime is consistent with espionage and thriller themes.

“The janitor who first discovered the robbery reports that there was a strange smell in the air”. “He said it reminded him of when his Uncle Arnold visited at Christmas.”

  • Smell: I think it is from a cigar ( specifically Cuban cigars)
  • Uncle Arnold at Christmas: images of spies and secret deals similar to the film Our Man in Havana.

“The thieves also left a message sprayed on the wall…” “We’ll be back.”

  • It sounds like a threat or maybe a promise, something sneaky, like spying or making things up, which is a big part of Our Man in Havana.

Yes the smell was from cigars - 1 Bonus point for that.

But it was a different Arnold...

One last try, Arnold is Graham Greene. 🙂

My search shows the following:

Graham Greene (GG1958) may be both:

  • El Curador — when he is the observer, archivist, and author.

  • Capitán Verde — when he is the active agent, the one in the field, influencing the world.

Yeah, He is Graham Greene from England. I should have researched more and answered it completely.

Last night I was circling around in the right place, but didn't look much deeper. Ahhhh....almost.
Congratulations @disconnect, you've found the guy.

Felicidades no pensé que iba a repetir país 😅

Jajajaja .. I'll think and search! 🧐

Quizás en reino unido? Graham es británico, guionista y escritor... 🧐

I think he's in France.

Será Europa.🧐

Estados Unidos?

Getting closer...

Sudamerica, Venezuela.?

Close, but no cigar!

Tendrás otra pista ? Está difícil
