The Diary Game [02/07/2025] // Lead A Research Team to the Limbe Wildlife Center.

Steem greetings, guys, from the motherland, Cameroon. Welcome to my blog for another day of sharing my lifestyle content. Guys, it has not been an easy ride since I embarked on this journey with some good minds researchers. I know many will ask if I'm an animal lover. To be honest, I'm never a good person when it comes to animals because I'm scared of them but I'm not a bad person who does not like to see animals at all. I often joined other animal lovers to advocate for better living conditions for the animals and respect for animal rights.

Lately, the center has suffered great losses due to the mismanagement of state funds in catering for the animals' well-being. It got to the point where many users after paying the entrance fee into the centre and could barely see any other animals apart from monkeys. I was contacted via LinkedIn by a project coordinator for a WWF project across several other African countries including Cameroon, Congo, Gabon and Madagascar. I was contacted because of my expertise in gender and security they are multidisciplinary and cuts across other disciplines. I am working with other like-minded researchers and today, we had a working session at the wildlife centre.

Leaving the house to the Centre for the working session.

It was a rainy day but I had an appointment with other team members to meet with the staff at the centre. But then I had to prepare breakfast for my kids before leaving the house. I quickly prepare some noodles and fed them. I was not in a hurry because I knew one or two of my father-in-law's staff when he was the director. They will help to make our working session a smooth one.

When we arrived there, we presented our badges to the receptionist who was welcoming and have us all the necessary information we required to hold the working session. We proceeded to the director's office for further working sessions with his staff.

We also saw a good number of visitors giving the fact that this is the holiday season and many families come here either to relax or walk around the center to get a good view of the animals available.

It was indeed a tiring day for me doing the work and at one point I felt like sick but had to brave it all till I was done with what was required of me. Any information about the project is confidential and cannot be shared publicly.

We left the centre at about 3:00 PM as we were done for the day. I could not wait to return home and rest. Along the way, I stopped by a roadside vendor to purchase bananas and watermelon as requested by my kids. I arrived home and it was raining seriously. I washed the bananas and melon to save in the fridge to be eaten during warmer weather conditions.

I was famished and I decided to prepare fufu and eat with eru from the freezer. I often cook soups and save them in the freezer. I had to take a longer ti e to heat the soup because it was damn frozen. It took time to completely dissolve but the fufu was easy to prepare using the Rwandan cassava flour.

After a stressful work day, this is a perfect food combination to balance your energy back to normal he he he. When I was done eating, I drank some hot tea to keep my body warm before I went to bed to call it a day.
