The Diary Game [04/06/2025] // Adapting to a new environment.
Steem greetings guys from the motherland-Cameroon and welcome to my blog for another session with my diary game. It has been days now spent in a new environment and we are still struggling to adapt to climate change and water. At least we have stable electricity now with limited blackouts as compared to our old place.

Walking around when the sun is up is challenging, especially in the afternoon, though we have a car but sometimes, I just prefer taking a walk. Anyways, I was not walking far from home, went to a grinding mill around my house to grind egusi and ogbono.
While boiling my meat to cook the soup, I decided to harvest some paw-paw behind the house to eat. Little did I know that the little breeze last night fell down the paw-paw tree and everything on the tree got damaged.

I returned to the kitchen to continue cooking my soup as the meat was ready. I had prepared everything and the cooking gonna be easy for me. This is one of the delicious soups my family loves so much, especially with cooked cassava flour. They can eat it as breakfast, lunch and dinner and will not complain like other meals I prepared.

After cooking, there came the time to complete washing of the dresses I could not finish the previous day. I needed to clear off all the remaining dirty dresses. Immediately I was done cooking, the house temperature was high and I tried switching to the air conditioner but flu could not allow me to feel free. I developed a serious headache and decided to take some cold yoghurt to calm down the heat.

Then the evening hours were characterised by watching the UEFA Nations Cup between Portugal and Germany. The first 45 minutes of the game were entertaining as Germany put in their best and showed resilience and a new German team after 8 years.
Hope was lost during the second half of the game as Portugal took the lead by 2:1. Germany lost consistency during the second half of the game and Portugal outplayed them to become winners of the day.
What an excellent play from both teams. It was indeed an entertaining evening with the Uefa Nation Cup. Until my next diary guys, good night from my end.
This is wonderful @chant ,it seems you have a new building that is just completely built,or are you not in Cameroon any longer, reading through your diary, you said trying to adapt the weather and mostly sun has become a challenge, but I believe you because with these challenges, you still do by walking around to see a how the environment is, even not using a car,it means you really want to adapt to this environment quickly.
A this paw paw I will like to have the species, because they are good as am seeing it on this picture.
The egosi soup is my favorite recipe, with fresh fish.
Thank you madam for sharing this wonderful diary.
How many times have you viewed the soup? It's about five times now, and I even zoomed in too. 🤣
Foodie like me will first focus on the soup hihihi. I'm still in Cameroon, my dear, just changed town to a more secure place for my kid's well-being.
The pawpaw wanted to make life easy for you, that’s why it allowed the wind to push it down, so, u won’t have to stress yourself harvesting it again😊
Speaking about this match, I heard Ronaldo scored. Was it through penalties because I can’t remember when last he scored a normal goal in his nations side.
Yeah, he scored his retirement goal lol.
Adapting to a new environment can sometimes be easy, while at other times it can be quite challenging. One of the hardest parts is having to leave your friends or loved ones behind. Fortunately, having your family with you can make the adjustment easier.
I’m truly grateful for the marvelous work of God, especially for the way He created our bodies with the ability to adapt to changes in our environment. You might be feeling the heat now, but in just a few days, you'll get used to it. Enjoy your soup—I'm here, licking my lips!
It is truly hard moving to a new space, but at times, we have to set priorities. I prioritise my kid's safety because we have been living in a conflict area for more than 8 years. It was a tough decision to make but I'm happy I made that move.
Conflict area, what really happened?
