The Diary Game [18/09/2025] // From Work Desk to Construction site, Sea Breezes and Champions League Night.

Steem greetings, everyone, from the motherland of Cameroon, and welcome to my blog for another lifestyle diary. Some days feel like a patchwork quilt, stitched together with a little bit of everything. Today was one of those days, and somehow, it all worked out. I had to work from home, visit the construction site, and had some good moments watching soccer games.

The morning started with the typical chaos of motherhood that is breakfast negotiations with the kids, last-minute school bag checks, and a dramatic “…I can not find my other shoe…” moment. This is typical of my daughter every morning. Once the kids were finally out the door, I slipped into work mode. These days I prefer working from home because the kids are in school and I enjoy the quietness. Coffee in hand, laptop open, I dove into Zoom meetings and deadlines.

By midday, I swapped my laptop for preparing dinner for the family. My kids often take lunch in school and I do not need to bother about lunch. I headed out to the construction site to evaluate the work done so far. The engineer failed to deliver with lots of mistakes right from the foundation. The reason why after decking, the work was halted.

There is something so satisfying about watching a space come to life. Today I did not see it coming as expected because of the errors of the engineer. I walked through the skeleton of what will be a light-filled living space, imagining sea breezes flowing through the open-plan kitchen. I’m no architect, but this project has been a passion.

The ocean was unreal, deep blues fading into soft turquoise, the sky cloudless and sharp. I spent a quiet 20 minutes capturing the light dancing on the waves.

Returning home, I stopped by a roadside vendor selling freshly boiled groundnuts. I chew on these soft, salty, warm and fresh groundnuts. There is something about cracking open each shell that brings a wave of childhood nostalgia. I munched on them slowly while walking home.

Evening came fast. After wrangling the kids through homework and bedtime stories, I finally settled in with a bowl of popcorn and the Champions League on TV.

Manchester City versus Napoli had everything gorgeous football could offer until the red card. Haaland scored a stunner, but Napoli fought hard to no avail.

Meanwhile, over in Newcastle, the crowd at St. James’ Park was buzzing. Newcastle versus Barcelona was elect though it was a tough game for Newcastle.

I kept an eye on the other scores too, Frankfurt pulled off a shocker against Galatasaray. Champions League nights are always a rollercoaster, and tonight delivered.

After the matches, it was just me, a half-empty mug of tea, and the soft hum of the fridge. I was exhausted, but in the best way today had work, creativity, motherhood, and football. Somehow, I meet up with all the tasks for the day and until my next diary, it is goodnight from me.

What an eventful day. You are a strong woman, doing all of that. During school period like this, mothers do work a lot. Preparing the children, what they will eat, taking them to school if the husband is not working within. After the same woman will go to her work place, still thinking about tje children at school and what the evening food will look like.
For you to have combined all of that and still have time to sit to watch champions league, you are strong. It's very good that you rested in the evening to enjoy match.

God bless you active woman.

Starting from how you prepare your kids and be checking the school bags even at the last minute to go, and with that you still discovered what was left.
Your zeal to be working at home is what I will call great job at home because some Women will not care to do this but depends on husband working strength, I appreciate you for this zeal.

Your manners when going to the side and discovered that the engineer has disappointed you was nice, you maintain high sense of understanding even when he did not do it up to your understanding. The day was so good as you prepare dinner for kids and also had a game watching the football game on cable. Thank you Madam, for sharing this great experiences.
