The Diary Game [20/10/2025] // Balancing Motherhood and Work from Home.
Hi guys, accept Steem greetings from the motherland-Cameroon and welcome to my blog where I share my daily lifestyle content with you all.
Today was one of those full, demanding but fulfilling days of being both mum and everything in between. With my husband away, the responsibilities have doubled, but somehow, I'm learning to balance it all, one step at a time.
The day started early, as usual and I was up before the kids, trying to squeeze in a moment of silence before the chaos of the day. I made pancakes for breakfast fluffy, golden, and just the way the kids like them. There is something about the smell of pancakes in the morning that puts everyone in a good mood. The kids were excited, and breakfast went down smoothly.

Later in the morning, I whipped up a quick fruit salad made up of pineapples, pawpaw, and a few slices of watermelon and squeezed one lemon in it. I figured it would help with digesting the pancakes, and it gave the kids something refreshing to snack on as they played around the house.

Not long after, I tackled the house and cleaning with kids around feels like brushing your teeth while eating chocolate, but I managed. I swept, mopped, and tidied every corner while keeping an eye on them. After the house was in order, we sat down for some revision. We went over their schoolwork together, math and a bit of reading. I am proud of how they are improving. It is not always easy to keep them focused, but today they cooperated better than I expected.
By early afternoon, I got busy in the kitchen again. I prepared eru and garri for lunch, a bit of a heavy meal, but perfect after the busy morning. We all ate together, and once we were done, I needed a break. I took a much-needed nap, just enough to reset my energy for the rest of the day.
After resting, I got on my laptop and handled some work. Emails, reports, and a few virtual meetings filled my screen. Working from home with kids around has its challenges, but I am slowly getting the hang of switching between roles throughout the day.
As evening approached, I ironed the kids’ school uniforms and arranged their bags, books, and shoes for the next day. I like doing that the evening before, it saves us from the morning rush and forgetfulness.

Before it got too dark, I took out the trash to the roadside bin. Then, I made a quick run to the supermarket nearby. I picked up some yogurt and a few snacks for the kids small rewards for being so cooperative today.
Back home, I helped them with their homework. It is always a bit of a juggling act to keep them both engaged, but we got through it together. Once homework was done, we had some quiet time before bed and I feel exhausted, but happy.

It’s days like these that remind me how strong I can be even when it feels overwhelming. One step at a time, one task at a time and somehow, everything gets done. Tomorrow is another day and I hope we all had a splendid work week ahead.

I enjoyed your diary game very beautifully. You shared with us the busy work of your whole day. You spend a lot of time with your children. They also encourage you to work with you. And pineapple watermelon papaya with these foods. You need to rest in the voice of the time that we all need for all of us. We will get peace if the body is healthy. Every day we have to cross through a lot of time in every moment. You present your breakfast and working moments in front of us in a beautiful way. Thank you so much for so beautiful to share with a diary game.
