The Diary Game: Shopping In The Market And Cooking (20-09-2025)
Today met me early in the market because I needed to grab few items for SATURDAY FOOD. If you are a Nigerian then you will definitely know that Saturdays are always special. Today, we spend time with families, cook, do laundry and clean up our surrounding and that was exactly what I did today as a typical Nigerian mother.
I have lost count of how I have misplaced seasoning cubes in my own house. Rat has really been contending the ownership of house with me and it's funny because I have even kept poison for them but yet they keep coming every single day to steal from my kitchen. Here was where I bought the seasoning cubes again and I wish I can get a rat trap because I would really want to get hold of them and just deal with them the same way they have been dealing with me.
When I came back to the house, I spread atama leaf I bought at the market and then plugged them off from their stem one after the other till I was done then I chopped it and added it to hot water before I went ahead to use it and prepare atama/Abak soup.

When I finished cooking, I dished it for myself and my son then we ate the food. I know it's not my son's kind of food but I don't seems to understand why he doesn't like local soup/food like this. He prefers noodles and rice to soup that will be solid on him. I had to make him eat, in short, I have been making him eat local foods these days just to make sure he gets used to them.
After we had finished eating, he helped me to wash the plates even though what he was doing was just funny but the thought behind it really did count. So after that, I bathed him and I bathed myself also then we stayed together before he slept off and then I took him to the bedroom and kept him then continued with the cleaning before my hubby called and asked me to bring him food, and checking the time, it was far late in to the day so I had to hurry up and took the food to him and here I was.
When I came back home, my son was awake so I took him so that we could go to the farm while waiting for daddy to come back home. We went there and my farm manager was picking the eggs laid by the layers. He is really doing a nice job here so I asked him to take 3 crates of egg back home for the weekend. He was so appreciative.
When I can back to the house, I told my hubby that we were waiting for him to come back but then we had to go to the farm to see what was going on. Then after that, I took my bath and bathed my son as well and we are ready to go to bed anytime soon.
