Greetings Steemit friends,

It’s another day and a new week after the presidential elections. Everywhere is calm, and the sky is dark with clouds but no rain. Literally speaking, everyone seems to be listening carefully to what’s happening around. That’s because the population is confused by the different election results circulating on social media.

I got up from bed and did a few minutes of workout in front of my bed. As I stepped out, there were already speculations about the expected presidential election results. Some people believe the elections were rigged and that the incumbent will stay in power. Personally, I think Cameroonians have reached a point where they won’t even accept the correct result if it doesn’t go their way.

I was fortunate, breakfast was ready, and I had my share while chatting with my kids. What made the moment interesting was my discussion with my 8-year-old daughter about the current president. She mentioned that since she was born, she has known two American presidents but only one Cameroonian president. I had to take some time to explain to her why one person can continue to be president of Cameroon until they die.

After breakfast, we started studying for exams which begin this week. We revised History and Geography, and then looked into her Math homework book, working on the exercises she didn’t get right. One thing I noticed is that she tends to rush over her work. Doing the correct calculations but writing down the wrong results. Distraction seems to be taking hold of her attention, and I honestly don’t yet know a good strategy to help her with that.

When I was done with the kids, we decided to go fetch water. I gathered all the containers, and we drove out. Getting portable drinking water is a bit challenging for us here. You either have to buy it or get it from the public tap at the national refinery, which is about a 10-minute drive from my house.

By the time we got back, lunch was ready, and the Cameroon national team was about to play their last game of the World Cup qualifying matches. Sadly, Cameroon’s qualification now depends on the results of other teams. We have to wait for the remaining matches to see if we can still make it among the best second-place teams for the playoffs.

Truth be told, Cameroon did not play like a team that wants to go to the World Cup. The tempo was too low for me, and the coach clearly showed he wasn’t good enough.

This is something I always notice when watching a game. If your team needs to win, and by the 80th minute, you still haven’t made any changes. I begin to question the coach’s ability to win matches. A good coach reads the game within the first 45 minutes. If you truly need to win, you shouldn’t wait past the 70th minute to make substitutions.

Marc Brys has shown that he’s out of ideas, making his first changes in the last 10 minutes of the game. That just shows you are doing it out of formality, not to actually change the game plan and go for a win. It was a sad day as Cameroonians went to bed unhappy with the draw, including me. LOL.

Cheers
