The Diary Game Season 3 [ Thursday July 31st, 2025 ] A day full of responsibility and the drive to keep going
Greetings Steemit friends,
Every day, we keep fighting. Sometimes for ourselves, and other times for others. It’s never easy when you are trying to sort out everything just to make sure everyone is okay. You end up stressing yourself, and eventually, it gets to you one way or another. That means you either manage to fix things and get a smile on your face, or you mess it up and feel bad about yourself.
This is another day. Like I always say, every new day comes with its own challenges, and you just have to face them. The only time you will stop facing challenges is when you are dead and gone from the face of the earth. Even those who have servants still face personal issues and challenges only they can handle.
I just got up from bed and prepared myself for work. The weather has been cold over the past couple of weeks, making it difficult to wake up on time. I live far from my workplace, so I have to be up early enough to arrive at work on time. When I got to the office, I cleaned my desk and wrote down my to-do list. Like every other working day, I started with my pending tasks.
I have been working on a new server setup that has kept me quite busy. I also have some clients I’m preparing to host on the new server. I was almost done, just left with the email configuration and testing. I completed that and immediately moved on to configure the DNS records for my client’s domain. After testing, everything worked fine, pending the SSL certificate, which I promised to install later.
By then, I was super hungry, really hungry. Early in the morning, it is always challenging to find good food. The best option is fast food, like fried eggs with Irish potatoes or bread. I prefer bread because it is heavier than Irish when paired with eggs.
I stepped out and placed my order from the fast-food guy near the office. It took him about 15 minutes to prepare the food. That was actually fast since his spot was not as crowded as it usually is in the mornings. I picked up the food and rushed back to the office to eat, along with a cup of lemon tea.
After eating, I began brainstorming for a new client. She’s developing a website for her news agency, she’s a journalist. From her expectations, I had to look at other news websites and try to draw a concept that would match her vision. I came up with a mockup and shared it with her. She was satisfied but requested a few changes, which I agreed to. The whole point of the mockup was to avoid going back and forth during the actual design process.
Next on my to-do list was updating content for another client. While working on that, I received a call from a different client concerning access to their Zoho Mail account. I had created and configured the account for them and shared the login details with their team. Unfortunately, one team member had set up a backup code for two-factor authentication (2FA), but that person had left the organization. As a result, they could not log into the super admin account on Zoho because they could not complete the 2FA process.
At this point, the only option was to contact Zoho support. My plan was to verify the account using the domain name. So, I advised the client to reach out to Zoho. He received a quick response with instructions and credentials to add a specific TXT record to the DNS. I did that and sent him a screenshot to use in replying to Zoho's email.
By then, it was closing time. I packed my bag and headed home. I got home tired and hungry. After having dinner, I sat in front of the TV to watch the news. Watching the news has become part of my daily routine these days. Like I mentioned earlier, the upcoming elections in October are already creating tension in the country.
It’s better to be informed than deformed due to a lack of information. The common man may not see what is going on behind the scenes, but a lot is happening. I encourage every Cameroonian to stay calm as we all hope for a better outcome. After watching a political debate, I quietly went to bed and called it a day.
Cheers
