MAKING SAPA RICE, BEANS AND STEW
Good morning, Steem Mates.
It's 9am here in Nigeria and I want to share with you how to make SAPA Rice, Beans and Stew.
In Nigeria, the word SAPA means LOW BUDGET. It is a word used when someone is broke or on a very low budget.
If you come to Nigeria, you'll hear words like; 'Sapa dey o'. The person is trying to tell you that they are extremely on a low budget or there is nothing to even spare.
So, this type of SAPA FOOD is mainly made by students. You know, Nigeria students are always on a low budget because they are just students who depends on their family to live.
So, let's get right into it.
The above is everything we used. First, I'll list the once I bought and I'll list the left overs.
Fish: 500 naira.
Meat: 1,000 naira.
Tomatoes: 500 naira.
Pepper: 500 naira.
Beans: 800 naira.
Eggs: 500 naira.
Onions.
Salt.
Seasonings.
Spice (Thyme, Onga, Curry).
Rice.
Crayfish.
Now, let's cook.
The first thing needed to be done is to boil the proteins. The meat whose texture is stronger is boiled before adding the fish. The proteins are boiled with thyme and onions and seasonings.
While the meat was getting cooked, I picked the beans.
After picking the beans, I washed them with clean water.
I washed my eggs too because I'll be boiling them with the beans to save time.
Here you go, everything is boiling.
When everything is boiled, you remove your eggs.
The next thing to be done is to parboiling the rice.
While the rice is parboiling. I blended the pepper.
...and then the tomatoes.
After the rice had boiled, I proceeded to cooking the stew. I was going to use the pot I used in boiling the protein. So, I just removed them into a plate and I proceeded.
I fried the tomatoes first.
Tomatoes paste is then fried.
Seasonings cubes.
This makes your stew read. I love it.😍
Salt. Added the salt lastly.
I added the proteins....
But I excluded the fish so that it doesn't scatter. I'll be adding them after everything.
I address my boiled eggs.
The last thing I added before the fish is sliced onions. I grinded some with the tomatoes but I love fresh onions in my stew so I added this lastly.
