MY HECTIC DAY WITHOUT ELECTRICITY: A STRUGGLE FOR LIGHT AND WATER

Good evening, Steem Mates. Let me share with you how my day went. I hope you have a good read.

There has been no light in Uyo since Saturday and it is not funny. Light is one of the challenges we face in Nigeria and I really do hope that someday, there is a permanent solution to it.

I went to bed last night at around 11 pm after moving around to find a spot to charge my phone. My phone was just at 12% and this morning, I was awoken by the sound of a generator I heard. It was the next compound and I went there to charge.

It didn't last for long. You know, the price of fuel is another thing. I decided to check around but there was no other place.

I went home, try writing but I was afraid that my phone might shut down. I couldn't do much on my phone.

At 12pm, I went to the market and got a few things to cook with. On my way back I was reminded that there was no water and I might stay hungry the whole day.

Fortunately for me, I saw a place where I could get water. I went there and bought a bucket. That was how I managed to cook and bathe.

Everyone was hoping that there would be light but there was no light. I waited till afternoon before I went on another quest to look for where to charge my phone. 🤧

At 3pm, I found a place that was a bit far from my house but there was no space. When I checked my bag, I didn't come with my charger. It was painful. I had to go home. There was no way I was going to come back. It was a long walk.

At 7pm, it started raining and I gave up all hope of seeing light today but after some time, it stopped raining, I decided to check around, this time with everything I needed inside my bag.

I found a place and started charging.

I got home a few minutes ago with a hundred percent. That could carry me till 5pm tomorrow.

It was a long, hectic day. A very long day but I am glad it ended with me having a 100% battery.
