SUNDAY REFLECTIONS: A JOG, A SERMON ON LOVE, AND SELF-CARE

Good Evening, Steam Mates, Happy Sunday to you all. I'll be sharing how my day went today.

Today being Sunday, I woke up very early because I was going to church. It's the first Sunday of the month you know?

I have not been doing my morning exercise for some time now so I decided to pick it up today.

I had a long run down the road for thirty minutes and I could feel my legs saying THANK YOU to me for going back to exercising.

I used my phone to listen to some cool jams and it was amazing. You know, I'll always tell you that reggae music hits differently, especially in the morning.

After jogging, I took a cool shower and set out for church. I didn't go with my phone because it distracts me.

Today's sermon was about LOVE and the pastor preaching started with a reading from the book of Matthew.

It talked about Jesus asking us to love our neighbors.

‘Love The Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself’.

That is what is written in the book of Matthew 22: 37-39.

Pastor Eddy went on and on teaching us how every religion is wrapped in two commandments; ‘love God and love people’.

The sermon was powerful and I learnt the below;

  1. Love is the foundation of our faith.
  2. Love is a choice, not just a feeling.
  3. Love reflects the nature of God.
  4. Real love is described in 1 Corinthians 13.
  5. Love is a ministry.
  6. Forgiveness is an act of love.
  7. Love is powerful in action.
  8. The world needs more love.

At the end of the sermon, I prayed to everyone who had wronged me and I promised to forgive them because forgiving is loving.

After the sermon, I went home and I had some pancakes for lunch and soup for dinner.

I spent the remainder of today at home resting because the new week will be filled with lots of work.

Thank you so much for reading my blog.
Goodnight, Steam Mates.
