WHO AM I? A STORY OF SELF-DISCOVERY
When I was younger, I used to think that our identity was just something we were born into. It was about our name or our family, maybe even our culture. But as I continued to grow up, I started to understand that figuring out who we really are is more like peeling away layers on an onion. It can be a bit messy, and it can even bring tears, but each layer reveals more truth about ourselves.
Hi there, I’m Jemmy! I wear a lot of hats: I’m a storyteller, a model, a content creator, and like everyone else, I’m on this never-ending journey of becoming my true self. But honestly, things weren’t always this clear to me. For a long time, I let others assign roles to me—being a daughter, a mother, a student, a friend, and more. I was so focused on making everyone else happy that I didn’t pay attention to what made me happy.
Then something shifted when I picked up writing. It started as a way to express myself, but it became so much more. Each written word became a little window into my soul, revealing parts of me I didn’t even know existed. Storytelling turned out to be a sort of therapy for me, a way to fight back against all the noise around me and to find my own voice.
Later on, I discovered beading. What I initially thought would just be a fun little craft turned into a metaphor for my life. Each bead I strung together represented a moment, whether happy or sad. Over time, I realized that I’m like a piece of art being created, combining the good, the bad, and everything in between.
These days, I wouldn’t say I have everything figured out. But what I do know is that I am not confined to the labels that others put on me. I am continuously shaping my path. I’m transforming my pain into something meaningful and becoming a voice for those who might feel lost. I’m a digital creator with a real heart.
So right now, I’m still learning, still healing, and still finding my glow.
Who am I?
I am in the process of becoming.
