The Diary Game : My Book Launch Celebration (13/10/2025)

Hello guys! It's been a donkey years since I posted last here. How are you doing? I hope someone has missed reading my post. So sorry for that. I was absent for quite a number of reasons. One of them was to tidy up my book with the publisher and then present it to the reading public. It wasn't an easy task. From finding fund to finding the audience who would buy the book, was very challenging. But at last, it was a success. I'm here to tell you all what happened on Sunday, the 13th day of October. Please stay tune and enjoy my reading.

It was a day I had dreamt of . After dreaming of writing a book that would give information to parents and care givers of children on how to raise them based on Bible-based principles, I had to to set motion on ground. It has been a long dream of almost five years ago. It finally came to past last Sunday.

I didn't have much money because publishing a book in this part of the globe is an Herculean task. I love writing. So I had to take the bull by the horn by sourcing for money to fund the project. The amount to publish the least copies of books in my state, is equivalent to 200 dollars.

First, I had to get a master's copy from the publisher to look for the sponsorship. Luckily for me, two book sellers indicated interest. So I got about 145 dollars, which I paid the first installment to the publisher. And to pay the balance before the launching day. He started work immediately.

The publisher, Mr. Andrew Joseph is a nice man who delivers on time. Someone recommded him to me. I didn't want to repeat the last experience I had with a publisher when I was publishing my second book. I had to patronised him because he delivers based on agreement.

I had fixed a date for the public presentation and launching of my book. I started printing invitation cards to invite guests and bookshop owners who would buy the books in bulk after launching. It wasn't a small task to canvas for the potential buyers. But I had three of them waiting.

On the d-day, I was a little bit afraid if I will have many persons in attendance because a lot of people don't like book launch in my community. But it turned out to be a success.

I woke up very early on Sunday by 7am to perform my normal duty in preparation to attend service. Since the event was billed to take place after service by 1pm, I didn't border to stress myself. I was calmed but put things in places before 8am before I left for Sunday service.

Immediately after service by 12noon, I went with my friend, Mr. Daniel to arrange for seats and get the venue set. I had to remind the invited guests of the event through text messages and calls. A greater number of them assured me of their presence. I bought some drinks and snacks that would be used in entertaining the guests.

The event commenced by 2pm. We waited for the chairman of the occasion to arrive but he couldn't come on time. So I had to asked my proprietor at work place to stand in for him. Mr. Ubon Inyang is my boss at work place. He did a nice job as an interim chairman.

The event started with an opening prayers. The Master of Ceremony, my friend, Mr. Pius was in charge of directing the proceedings. After an opening prayers, the chairman gave an opening remarks before the keynote speaker presented a talk on the title of the book, Raising Godly Children. It was a great talk by Pst UbongAbasi Ossom.

Prof Edemekong presented a review of the book. He summarized the contents of the five chapters in the book. As a scholar, he did a nice job. But before his presentation, my friend, Mr. Isaac Edet, gave a citation of my profile.

By 3pm, the hall was filled to the brim. The book launch commenced officially after the review. The chairman and the members of the head table started the launching while others followed. It was a great and a remarkable moment.

After giving a vote of thanks, I ordered for entertainment of the guests. I couldn't take enough pictures because I was busy. I ordered my friends to take some shots for steemit.

The event came to end by 4pm after a closing prayers and then a group photograph.

I came back home by 5pm. When I reached home, I took some copies of the book to the chairman who didn't come because according to him he was engaged. This book is recommended for all parents.

That was how my Sunday was. I won't forget in a hurry.

Thank you for reading my post. Have a great and a memorable moment
