The Diary Game: My Village Primary School Sendforth Graduands (1/8/2025)
Hello dear friends! Happy weekend from my side to you. How is your weekend going? I believe you are doing well with steemit. I'm great here too. My village primary school that I graduated thirty years ago sent forth primary six people in a grand style. I was there to share with their joy. It was a moment to behold as I watched children present remarkable and memories that would linger in my memory. Come and enjoy some beautiful sights as I tell you what happened.
The event took place on Friday, the first day of August. That was when the school brought their academic session to an end. In order to honour the graduating pupils, a lot of activities were presented to the listening pleasure of the guests.

I woke up in the morning by 5.30am. I woke up this early because I had to travel a distance of an hour to reach my village, Ikot Essen Nsit in Nsit Atai province of Akwa Ibom State. When I woke up, I brushed my mouth, took bath and then took a light breakfast before I dressed up to leave for village.
I left Uyo main town by 7.30 and I arrived at my town by few minutes to 9am. Although I wasn't really going for the graduation ceremony, I had to attend to see how organized my alma mater has been since I graduated years back. The programme was scheduled to start by 10am but by 11am, only very few persons were at the venue.
I got there, and then went around the environment that was once my learning environment. It was better than I met because much renovations were done by the government of the Local Government. By 12noon, the event had commenced.
Aftet the national anthem, the headteacher was invited to give an opening speech. He was an intelligent man with creativity. He has been the headteacher of the school for about seven years. His name is Mr. Eno Essiet.

After his speech, he ordered that the pupils start presentation of activities. I was so excited watching young children from my village, with talents presented beautiful piece. First, was a cultural dance by the primary three pupils.

Two young girls, Nsini and Bright were the best dancers. Out of excitement, they were given scholarship by the Council Chairman of the Local Government.

After the dance presentation, other activities followed. But the high point of the event was the ward of excellence to outstanding pupils who had performed exceptionally. It was an exciting moment to behold.

This was followed by the presentation of certificates to the graduating pupils. These pupils were so happy that they have finished primary school and are going to secondary schools.

The last lapse of the event was a valedictory speech by the best graduating pupil, Bright Usen.

The whole of my afternoon activities were at my alma mater. I really spent a quality time with the children. They made me proud. I didn't return early to town because I had spent so much time. I returned to Uyo by 5pm and was exhausted.
I then undressed and went to the bathroom to take my bath. When I came out of the bathroom, I ate my dinner and then relaxed with steemit for an hour. The force of sleep was so pressing that I couldn't control any longer. I went to bed by 8pm and then slept off.
That was how I spent my Friday, the first of August, 2025. It was a day to remember.
