My Saturday at Home - from market runs to football thrills
Hello Steemit family!
I hope everyone had a smooth and relaxing Saturday. As for me, let’s just say my day had a little bit of everything—market runs, sleep, unexpected cravings, and plenty of football drama.
If you caught my post yesterday in the @hindwhale community, you already know I came home from school for the weekend. Part of it was to restock some foodstuff—because man was literally running on crumbs.
So, here’s how my day went:
I woke up past 9am today. Technically, I first opened my eyes around 5am when my alarm started shouting. But abeg, who wakes up by 5am on a Saturday? I turned and went back to enjoy my sleep.
By the time I finally stood up, everyone else was already up and active. I stretched, did a few light chores, and followed my sister to the market. Hunger had humbled me in school, so this market run was important.
I bought rice, beans, spaghetti, onions, Maggi, pepper, oil, toothpaste, detergents—you get the point. It was a serious refill. We also bought groundnuts to keep us going while cooking later because hunger was already doing press-up in my stomach.

Back home, we jumped straight into cooking. But as the food was still being prepared, I helped myself to some leftover rice from the fridge. Microwave. Plate. Gone. After that, I left my sisters in the kitchen and went to the room. Climbed on the bed with my phone... and just like that, I slept off.
Funny enough, before I dozed off, I noticed I had been mentioned by @ikwal to participate in the "Steem Cameroon Best Day" contest that’s ending later this month. I’m definitely going to join in—sounds like something I’d enjoy writing for, and hopefully even win .
Next thing, I woke up to the Bayern vs PSG match in the Club World Cup quarter-finals. Omo, PSG beat Bayern 2–0. But what pained me the most was Musiala’s injury. The guy had a nasty leg clash with Donnarumma and had to be stretchered off. They said it’s a fractured fibula and he’ll be out for months. Wahala too much. Wishing him a fast and full recovery.
The goals for PSG came late in the game—one from Désiré Doué and the other from Dembélé during extra time.

After the match, I went to freshen up and came back to eat—soup and garri. Na that kind of food dey reset brain.
After eating, we settled down to watch a movie. But guess what? Just about three hours later, I felt like eating again. I went straight to the kitchen, boiled water, and made oats. Everybody looked at me like “again?” and I told them, “The body wants what the body wants.”
While we were watching, Real Madrid vs Dortmund started. I was streaming the match on my phone while still watching the movie. But I can’t lie, the movie had more action at first. That was until stoppage time madness hit the match.
Madrid had already scored two goals earlier—one from Gonzalo García and another from Fran García. Then in extra time, everything happened at once:
Beier scored for Dortmund.
Mbappé replied immediately with a mad volley.
Guirassy scored a penalty.
Real got a red card.
Courtois made a final-minute save.
Final score: Real Madrid 3, Dortmund 2. Chaos. But sweet chaos. I loved it.

Now as I type this, it’s already 1:01am. I’ve cooked, eaten twice, slept small, watched movies, and followed football. It’s been a long but fun day.
Thanks for reading my little Saturday gist. Wishing you all a good night rest and a blessed Sunday ahead.
