The diary game: Day 1 of my Life ND project.

My day 1 on training of Life Nd project.

MORNING

A new day, in a new weeks , doing a new project. As the week began, it was an exciting one as I woke very early from sleep and prepared the kids for holiday lessons and prepared myself for the training. A day, I have been longing for finally came to be and with full actualization. After all preparations, I left the house for the training, though it was raining but I couldn't miss or avoid the long awaiting day. I boarded a tricycle to the junction where I stopped and did the foot walking.

I trekked inside the farm, as a new person there , I saw some people working which made me so curious to know what was really happening in that place.
I was actually going there as I'm going to a fish farm JUST FISH FARM. Not knowing that other activities takes place there. Since my fellow incubatee (as we address each other) were there, I made calls and was directed to actual site where fish farming takes place.

This 11-08-2025 at the farm known as U- Domita's farm was a very interesting day. The village where the farm is situated is like 30 minutes away from mine .
The distance from my abode to the road and boarding a vehicle to where I will get bike to enter inside the farm. All we sum up to like 45minutes.
The farm is massive space that is up to 10hectares or more.

While waiting for our instructor to go sort out things with the farm managers, we went round the farm , seeing the the things planted , reared and processed in the farm. The sighting was captivating.

AFTERNOON

The incubator took us around, showing us different hatchery in the fish farm house. I saw different sizes of hatchery . I guess they are for different sizes of fishes. The place had more than 15 hatchery with different shapes and sizes. We were given orientation on how to go about doing things in the farm before the lecturing proper.

Summary of Monday training:

Introduction to Aquaculture:

Aquaculture or fish farming is referred to as the rearing or cultivation of aquatic organisms in a controlled or an aquatic environment. Examples of aquatic organisms are fishes, aquatic plants, aquatic snails, alligator, crocodile etc

TYPES OF FISH FARMING

There are three types of aquatic body
  1. Fresh water body

  2. Brackish or estuarine water

  3. Marine or salty water body

The best water for rearing fish is the fresh water. Examples are ponds, stream etc.

BENEFITS OF FISH FARMING

I learnt that fish farming 1. Creates employment, 2. It provides food 3. It can be used for recreation and other aesthetical purposes, whereby people can always go for sight seeing. In the process, the owner can generate income through the aesthetics medium.

We were lectured on the different types of fishes , the ones in the temperate region or tropical region. Our location here is the tropical region,so fishes here are based suitable for the tropics.

We discussed about water quality, the parameters to know the quality of the water
The incubator ended for the day after speaking about nitrate and ammonia.
The class was fulfilled. I so much loved the way the incubator trained us.

EVENING

On reaching home, after a stressful day I was so tired and exhausted. I layed myself on the couch in the sitting room where I dozed off only to remember that I had a corn to take to the mill and grind. I hurriedly rush down to do just that and returned at about 9:30, made some coffee and drank then had a warmth bath then sleep off till morning of the next morning class.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HAVING MY TIME!!
