A Rainy Day Calls For Rainy Food
Good afternoon beautiful people of Steemit platform and welcome to my blog. Hope your days is smooth because mine is smooth too. Please, stay plugged as I share this short but interesting piece with love from @uyaiuyo
On this very day, it was raining cat and dog from morning till night. Our people always say that "rain can only stop people from going to farm but cannot stop the market women because no how, everyone must eat"
Since we were all indoors that day, as it was raining, everyone at home were craving for anything pepper soup to keep the body warm from cold.
I dressed up and also put on my low budget rain coat because our car was undergoing maintenance. The kids also got dressed and picked their umbrellas and off to the market to purchase pug meat for plantain pepper.
We quickly bought the fresh pug meat and return home. I washed and seasoned my pug meat with onions, pepper, seasoning cubes, salt, ginger and garlic.
After steaming the meat, I started peeling my plantain. Washed, cooked till almost soft. Poured in my pug meat and the stock, garnish again with much pepper as the weather was pretty cold, onions and allowed to cook
I confirmed the taste and added my seasoning again. Covered and allowed to steam then I added my scent leaves and my rainy food was ready. Meanwhile, the pepper soup was so thick and yummy and I know you'll have a great time tasting this in the air... Smiles.
