Against

  1. There was nothing like dating in the olden days and marriage then last longer than now. This proves that the length of dating has nothing to do with the success of a marriage

  2. I've seen so many people that dated for very long yet their marriage still went the way of divorce. So it's not about how long you date the person

  3. So many people don't understand the purpose of dating before marriage. So many of them spend the dating time engaging in fun activities and very little time in trying to figure out if their partner is right for them. So it will be difficult to determine the true qualities your partner have from such irrespective of how long you date

  4. A relationship will work if both partners want it to work regardless of the length of the dating

  5. To have an idea of who a person is doesn't need to take too long. Simple questioning, attitude observation, friends they keep will reveal to you if the person is righ or wrong for you.

  6. You can't actually know who someone truly irrespective of how long you date. So long dating doesn't guarantee you knowing the person and having a loving marriage.

  7. Long dating wastes people's time when the relationship don't work out. Dating normally is supposed to be short. It's courtship that takes a little time.

The length of a date does not determine the success of a marriage, it is who a person is that determines such. So whether you date the person for a day or 2years, if they have the wrong traits, the relationship will not still work out.
