SteemDEX User Registration & Spot Trading Guide
Hey everyone! For past one week, we have been continuously working on fixing minor bugs and issues of SteemDEX, including fixing user registration, swap fees detection and estimated receiving amount accuracy. If you had already accessed SteemDEX previously, please logout, clear browser cache/cookies and login again to achieve stable experience. And as it is still in its early phases, please excuse the issues & inconveniences, also we would appreciate if you report the issues at our official discord server so that we can detect and work on them.
This blog will be a step-by-step guide on STEEM/SBD spot trading on SteemDEX.com. We will demonstrate how to create account, connect wallet and execute spot trades safely and efficiently so that users can follow each step carefully and using the screenshots to navigate the platform with ease.
Create Account Via Email
Access SteemDEX via https://steemdex.com and click on the Login option. If you’re new to the platform, select Create a New Account to begin setting up your account.
After clicking on Create a New Account, a new window will open. Enter your email address, then set a strong password. Re-enter the same password in the Confirm Password field, and finally, click on Create Account.
A new window will now appear, informing you that a 6-digit verification code has been sent to your email. Check your inbox for the code, then enter it into the verification box. Once done, click on the Verify Email button to complete your email verification.
That’s it. Your account has been successfully created. Now you can log in to your SteemDEX account using the email address and password you have set. Click Login to access your account.
Forgot Your Password?
Now let's explore how to regain access to your account if you forget the password for the account you created using your email.
On the login page, click Forgot password?. A new window will open. Enter the email address associated with your account. Next, click the Send Reset Code button. A code will be sent to your email. Now, check your inbox for the code.

If you don’t see the code in your inbox, check your spam folder. Enter the received code into the verification box and click Verify Code. A new window will appear where you can set a new password. Enter your new password, and that’s it. Your password has been successfully reset. You can now log in to your account again using your email and new password.
Spot Trading on SteemDEX
You can now trade on SteemDEX by logging in either with Steem Keychain or using your email and password. Now let's demonstrate a trade by connecting Steemit account via Keychain.
Open https://steemdex.com in your browser.
Click “Connect Wallet or Login” at the top-right corner.
Enter your Steemit ID and click the “Login with Keychain” button to authorize the connection.
A Keychain popup will appear. Confirm the request to proceed.
Once confirmed, you will be successfully logged in and ready to start trading.
At this stage, you have two options for trading. You can perform a market trade, which allows you to buy or sell tokens immediately at the current market price. Market trades are fast and convenient because the transaction happens instantly based on the available liquidity.
Alternatively, you can create a limit order. With a limit order, you specify the exact price at which you want to buy or sell. The trade will only execute when the market reaches that price, giving you more control over the rate you get. Limit orders are useful if you want to avoid paying more or receiving less than your target price. You can choose either method depending on your trading preference, instant execution with market trades or price control with limit orders.

Let’s go through an example of creating a limit order using 25 STEEM. We decided to create a limit order using 25 STEEM. First, we selected the Limit Order option. Then, we entered 25 STEEM in the amount box. In the price box, we typed 0.152560 as the price at which we wanted to sell. After that, clicked the “Sell STEEM” button. A Keychain popup appeared asking for confirmation, and we approved it. Our limit order was successfully placed and is now waiting to execute at the price we set.

After that, we could see that our trade was successfully completed.
After a trade is successfully completed, users can view all their previous trades as well as all open order data on SteemDEX. This feature helps users keep track of their trading activity and manage their orders efficiently.

Additionally, users can view all their activities on the custom-built SteemExplorer, providing a complete overview of account transactions, trading history, and more.
Tips & Warnings:
When trading on SteemDEX, always make sure your wallet is properly connected before initiating any trade to avoid mistakes. It’s a good idea to start with a small amount, especially if you are trying a new type of trade for the first time. Keep in mind that market prices can change quickly, so pay attention to volatility. Using limit orders can help you maintain more control over the price at which you buy or sell. Never share your private keys or approve transactions from unknown sources, and always confirm each transaction through your wallet to ensure it is completed successfully.
