Materials For The Painting
- Strongboard
- Cutter
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Acrylic Colour
- Brush
- Form
- A piece of a mattress
Step 1
I began my drawing by first constructing the drawing space. I cut my strong board to be 23cm by 30cm, and I cut another strong board to be 25cm by 32cm. I then glue the strongboard together and write my username and date.
Step 2
Here, I sketched or drew the outline of the chicken head. I began with the beak followed by the comb. I then drew the neck and concluded with the wattle.
Step 3
I drew the eyes of the chicken. I also drew the ear and the ear lobes.
Step 4
At this point, I began my painting. I mixed a yellow, blue and white acrylic to obtain a light green. I then used the piece of mattress and a brush to paint the background of the drawing.
Step 5
I used a red acrylic colour to paint the comb and wattle of the chicken. I used a brush and a piece of a mattress to make the painting.
Step 6
I painted the beak of the chicken using yellow and white acrylic colours. I also painted the eye using yellow, white, and black acrylic colours. Lastly at this step, I give a touch of black on the comb and part of the beak.
Step 7
I painted the neck of the chicken using a white acrylic colour and a brush. I also give the neck a touch of black and yellow. Finally, I painted the hair above the eyes using white acrylic colour.
Step 8
I painted the ear lobe using red and white acrylic colour. I mixed a red and black acrylic colour to give a final touch on the wattle. Finally, I give a touch of red on the eye.
✅ How long did it take to complete your drawing, and how do you feel about it?
This painting took me about 6 hours to finish. It took me this long because at each step, I allowed it to dry before moving to the next step. I want to let you know that I felt very happy after this work was completed
✅ Give us a beautiful selfie with your creation and where you got the inspiration from.
I saw this picture on the internet (pixabay). It looks beautiful and I decided to paint it using acrylic colour.
