Greetings, fellow steemians, how are you today? I believe you are all fine as I am. I appreciate @dequeen for organising this contest. Here is my entry this week..

✅ Explain what you draw in your own words.

In this week's contest, I drew a very old man putting on a jacket covering his head with a cap. He stretched his hands holding a rose as a sign of love.

Materials for the drawing

• A4 embossed paper
• Pencils
• Blade
• Eraser
• Colours
• Cotton wool

Step 1
I began my drawing by first writing my username and date on the paper. After that, I sketched the head and shoulder of the old man.

Step 2
Here, I sketched the face of the old man. I first drew the nose followed by his left eye. I then drew his forehead, the cheek and the lower. Next, I drew the second eye, the eyebrow and then the mouth.

Step 3
I drew his right hand which he stretched.

Step 4
I drew the rose flower in the hand of the old man.

Step 5
I began shading the face of the old man. I shaded the space between his face and the cap. I also shaded the nose and area around the eyes.

Step 6
I shade the black eyelids, the wrinkles on his face, the mouth and the beard on his lower jaw, and lastly, on this step, I blend the shading with a cotton wool.

Step 7
I shaded the cap on the man's head.

Step 8
I shaded the remaining part of the shirt and also the edge of his sleeve.

Step 9
I shaded the hand of the old man.

Step 10
I shaded the rose flower using a red crayola, red pencil colour and a back crayola.

Step 11
I shaded part of the old man's shirt, and also shaded the background of the drawing. Finally, I use my pencil to lighten the the shading on the shirts and blend the entire drawing using cotton wool.

✅ How long did it take to complete your drawing, and how do you feel about it?

It took me two hours to have this drawing completed. The outcome of the drawing makes me very excited because it looks so beautiful as I expected it to be.

Drawing is my hobby, and anything that attracts me, the next thing I do is to draw it. I got attracted to this image as I saw it on Facebook, so I decided to draw it.
