"Prove yourself as the best artist for the week".

Greetings dear friends. I am glad to be part of this week's contest organised by @dequeen. For this week, I drew a portrait of a young lady and below are the details.

What I drew in this week's contest is a pencil portrait of a black African lady with her long, braided hair resting on her back.

Materials for the drawing

• Plain embossed paper
• Pencils
• Eraser
• Plack pen
• Paper cutter
• Cotton wool

Step 1
I drew the face of the lady. I began with the forehead, the cheek and the lower jaw. I then drew the right eyebrow, the nose, the right eye and the mouth.

Step 2
I drew the left eyebrow and the eye, I also sketched the hair and the ear.

Step 3
I sketched the braid on her hair, and I also drew the neck of the lady.

Step 4
I drew the shoulder of the lady and the collar of her shirt. I also shaded the braid on the lady's head and made it long to rest on her back using a pencil and black pen.

Step 5
I shaded the eyebrow, the eye and the black eyelid using a black pen. Again, I began shading the face of the lady from the forehead down to the right eye and the right cheek.

Step 6
I shaded the lady's nose, the nostrils and the lips. I also shaded the entire face and neck of the lady using a pencil and a black pen.

Step 7
At this last step, I shaded the chest and the shirt of the lady.

✅ How long did it take to complete your drawing, and how do you feel about it?

The portrait drawing of this week took me approximately two and a half hours to complete, and as usual, I was happy after completing the drawing.

I saw a full picture of this lady on Facebook, and I decided to draw a portrait of the picture using a pencil and a black pen.
