Memories are part of any living being especially the human species. The animals also know what will happen to them if it repeats itself, that is if they are alive to witness its repetition. How many more humans and their memories? Since we have brains we have memories.

Memories are very important in the role of human life. Without memories, how can we be security conscious in our dealings and everyday activities? It helps us plan ahead of time since we already know past occurrences of such nature. We advertise dangerous trends and avoid repeating those mistakes we made previously since we still have the memories of when last they happened to us.

Memories just like experience, are our best teachers. No one wants to learn from their mistakes but rather from other people's own. However, most of the experiences that guide our decision-making in life circumstances are all products of memories we either had or others we heard or happened to us indirectly.

My best memories for 2023 would be a successful survival of the year. The year itself was catastrophic in most things it unfolded for us but we survived it all. I believe every other person in my country would understand this story better. It was a vital year and we survived it without any form of scratch.

The first quarter of the year hosts us the women where we celebrate Women's Day in my church with a difference. This was celebrated with the help of other programs it hosted to make it a memorable one. There was a competition hosted among the diocesan women and in the series of competitions, we grabbed two trophies.

Multiple visits to event centers happened lately in the year. This was the Christmas holidays. We visited some children's parks with the kids, shopping malls to get some items, and another playground to build fantastic memories for the kids.

Sharing my worst memory for the year 2023 would not exempt the terrible state of my country. The year started with some self-inflicted hardship when the CBN enacted a policy that caused a devastating cash scarcity in the country. People served to death, some died while protesting in the streets whereas others took their lives by committing suicide.

It was an unpleasant situation that faced everyone. This was a bad policy that emanated from politically engraved persons due to some political grandstanding. However, everyone had to face the music of their uncultured display. At the time, the Naira was Trading against itself as the real value of the currency when converted to cash was lower than when electronically used.

The next worst moment was the electioneering process. Just when we felt we'd seen it all and gotten the steps right, we got inflicted with worse memories of our lives. How can we forget the electioneering process of 2023 when we felt we had given ourselves liberation from the bolds of political enemies? It was rigged, hijacked, and electronically manipulated. It was a black Saturday for all souls in the country.
