"Prove yourself as the best artist for the week".

Greetings to everyone and it's a pleasure being here in this community, once again I am @emmaboy23 and I would be sharing my entry for this contest titled "Prove yourself as the best artist for the week" organized by @dequeen. Art is more than just lines on paper—it is a story told without words. This portrait, drawn entirely with pencil, represents not only my technical ability but also my passion for creating lifelike expressions. For this week’s Prove Yourself as the Best Artist This Week, I chose to create a pencil portrait of a smiling young woman—an artwork that combines precision, expression, and shading to bring life to paper. Here are the steps i took in making this.

Drawing materials

• A4 paper
• 2B pencil
• HB pencil
• eraser
• sharpener
• pencil blade

step 1

I began with writing my username and date at the top of my page, then I made a light sketch of the girls face including our eyes and her glasses she was wearing.

Next I then Drew her nose mouth and give details to her eyes, after doing that I also Drew her ears and her earrings.

Next, i drew her hairs and her shoulder with the shirt she was wearing.

At this point I Began to outline my drawing using darker lines to make it bold and visible.

At this point, i began to shade my drawing using my HB pencil and I also added contrast to the shirt she was wearing.

At this point, my drawing is finally complete and below is my final result with a picture of i and my drawing.

With this piece, I aim to inspire others to pick up their pencils and express themselves. After all, the best artist is not just the one who can draw well, but the one who can make the viewer feel something with every stroke. Hope you all enjoyed my post for today and that's the end of my post.
